Good study habits are the prerequisite for improving study efficiency, promoting academic development, and ensuring physical and mental health. The elementary school stage is a critical period for behavior shaping.Cultivating pupils’ good study habits is in line with the requirements of the core literacy goals of basic education, and helps to form their life-long developmental character and ability. This research adopts the questionnaire survey method and the controlled experiment method, with the paradigm of empirical research.Through the "Study habits inventory-primary school(SHI-PS)",investigate and understand the current situation and characteristics of pupils’ study habits;through psychological education intervention experiments, explore and discover effective models and paths for the development of pupils’ study habits. The research conclusions are as follows:(1)The total average score of pupils ’ study habits is 3 points higher than the median, which is generally good.In the seven dimensions of learning activeness, classroom compliance,extra-curriculum reading, listening concentration, commitment to schoolwork,de-procrastination and diligence, classroom compliance scored the highest, and extra-curriculum reading scored the lowest. The order of the scores for each dimension is as follows: Classroom compliance 4.6 ﹥ Listening concentrationl 4.51 ﹥ Diligence 4.49 ﹥De-procrastination 4.26 ﹥ Commitment to schoolwork 4.24 ﹥ learning activeness 3.80 ﹥extra-curriculum reading 3.63.(2)There is no significant difference in the level of study habits between boys and girls in primary schools.(3)The psychological education model has a significant effect on cultivating good study habits of pupils.(1)The overall level of learning habits in the experimental group after variable intervention was significantly higher than that of the control group without variable intervention.Among them, the three dimensional indicators of learning activeness,extra-curriculum reading, and Commitment to schoolwork were significantly higher in the experimental group than in the control group.(2)Before and after the variable intervention, the experimental group’s overall study habits have changed significantly, and the five dimensions of learning activeness,Commitment to schoolwork,de-procrastination,Classroom compliance and diligence have been significantly improved.(4)After the experimental intervention, the experimental group had improved in Chinese and mathematics, but this difference was not statistically significant under the existing experimental conditions. The study adopts the psychological education model of "class training, individual consultation, and parent counseling",and has shown good operability and feasibility through experiments in realistic teaching scenarios. It is an effective way to cultivate good study habits for primary school students.
