China is already an aging country,the number of elderly people continues to grow,the elderly play a huge role in economic development and social construction,and become an important participating force.In the role of community education for the elderly,the elderly will be transformed into an important force to promote community development,making China’s social and economic development.Community education for the elderly lacks the participation of social forces.Social work,as a social force,plays an important role in meeting the educational needs of the elderly,tapping their potential to adapt to modern life,improving their quality of life,enriching their spiritual world and cultivating their optimistic attitude towards life.Based on the field research,social work will be involved in community education for the elderly,practical exploration,and analysis of the feasibility of supporting group work involved in community education for the elderly.Under the guidance of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory,socialization theory and continuity theory,this paper uses the method of group work to analyze the practice process of social work on the "old people’s learning" supporting group in L community of Hengshui City.It is divided into three stages:preparation,implementation and evaluation.Qualitative and quantitative methods are used to carry out the investigation and analysis before the activity and the evaluation and summary in the later stage of the activity.The support group activities have achieved certain results,promoting the emotional relationship among community residents;Strengthen the community cultural atmosphere;Promote more community residents to contact and understand the education of the elderly;Promote the development of positive emotions of the elderly.Reflection on the practical part,found that the preparatory work of social work intervention is insufficient,community workers lack of experience,social workers lack of cultural sensitivity in the intervention and other issues,according to the reflection content of the corresponding measures,to provide experience for social forces to join the community elderly education.The development of geriatric education needs to be closely linked with community education;the management system of community geriatric education needs to be improved to coordinate the overall situation;the learning and communication platform for the elderly needs to be built;and the sustainable development of community work and community geriatric education needs to be provided.This paper attempts to intervene in community elderly education through supportive group work,enrich the content of community elderly social work,increase social strength for community elderly education service,improve the function of community elderly education,and improve the spiritual life quality of community elderly residents.
