Research On The Current Situation And Cultivating Strategies Of Students’ Legal Consciousness From Higher Vocational Colleges

Legal consciousness is the combination of people’s cognition,emotion and will on legal phenomenon,which is related to the psychological characteristics of groups or individuals.The cultivation of students’ legal consciousness from higher vocational colleges is a kind of activity in which students’ legal knowledge is increased,their legal behavior is standardized and their legal consciousness is improved by various means of teaching and campus activities.It is an important content of improving the comprehensive quality of students from higher vocational colleges to study the cultivation of their legal consciousness,analyze the existing problems from the perspective of practice,think deeply and rationally,and put forward solutions.This paper first analyzes the research background and significance of higher vocational students’ legal consciousness.At present,the research on the legal consciousness of higher vocational students is slightly weak.In the limited literature,most of them take “college students” as the study object,and few of them take students from higher vocational colleges as an independent group.Mainly focusing on on the situation of students,the research on the cultivation of legal awareness seldom considers the education policy-making,the research situation of teaching status and cultivation strategies,research significance,research direction or research methods.Through the questionnaire survey of 592 students,this paper takes vocational college students as the research group,analyzes the basic situation of students’ legal consciousness and the current situation of legal teaching in colleges.Then,the paper sorts out the problems existing in the cultivation of legal consciousness in higher vocational colleges.First,higher vocational colleges pay less attention to cultivating legal consciousness,which is mainly reflected in the following aspects: less class arrangement,dispersive content system,and difficulty in stressing the knowlege.Second,teachers’ professionalism is not strong,which is reflected in the lack of legal background and the difficulty of teaching in-depth.Third,there are few extra-curricular legal activities,including single form of campus activities and insufficient publicity of law popularization.Finally,considering the current overall situation of legal awareness training in higher vocational colleges,the paper puts forward to existing problems and corresponding strategies.The methods include attaching greater importance to legal education in higher vocational colleges,reforming the teaching mode of legal education,setting up a course on legal foundation alone,forming a professional team of teachers on legal education,improving the professional quality of educators and actively organizing legal activities.The study points out that there are important ways to guide students to protect the moral bottom line of law,including paying more attention to the cultivation of students’ legal awareness and raising the importance level of basic law course to the same one as the course of ideological and political education and English.In order to reform the existing teaching mode,the colleges are suggested to add the class hours of the law course,formulate a reasonable teaching plan,and change the existing teaching methods.From the aspect of establishing teams of professional teachers,the colleges need employ legal talents,optimize the composition of teachers,carry out teaching and research activities,and improve knowledge reserves.In addition,to reach the goals of raising students’ legal consciousness,higher vocational colleges are supposed to actively organize legal activities,make full use of social resources,build up bases for legal practice,create legal atmosphere on campus,and increase publicity of law cultivation.
