Purpose of Research:Excessive use of smartphone is one of the causes of insufficient physical activity and static lifestyle among college students, and has become a new public health problem. To objectively evaluate the smartphone use of college students, and investigate the characteristics of the relationship between smartphone use and physical activity, sedentary behavior(SB),mood and sleep quality of college students,so as to provide support and basis for improving the problematic smartphone use behavior of college students.Method of Research:The study adopts the methods of literature, questionnaire investigation and mathematical statistics. The students from three universities in Suzhou were investigated, the questionnaire includes "The Self-Made General Questionnaire","International Physical Activity Questionnaire","Profile of Mood States" and "Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index".Random cluster sampling was carried out in the physical health classes of universities, and the testing time was from November 23 to 27,2020.Result of research:(1)The questionnaire survey finally got 362 valid questionnaires(the overall effective rate of the samples was 90.5%),Usage time spent on smartphones was 428.97(SD=229.98)minutes,the number of screen unlocking was 87.16(SD=59.10)times,the PA level was 3298.47(SD=3149.02)MET-min/w,daily sedentary time was 449.75(SD=59.36)minutes,mood score was 111.64(SD=11.74),sleep score was 6.55(SD=2.50),the number of steps was 8005.58(SD=3643.25)steps/day.The prevalence rate of physical inactivity was 24.3%,and the prevalence rate of sleep quality problems was 16.9%.(2)The PA level, the prevalence rate of physical inactivity and daily step number of male college students were significantly higher than those of female college students(P<0.01);The scores of mood of male college students was significantly lower than that of female college students(P<0.05).The PA level of polytechnic students was significantly higher than that of students in liberal arts major, and the score of SQ was significantly lower than that of students in liberal arts major(P<0.05).(3)Three groups of using time have a significant effect on PA,SB,mood,SQ and daily steps(P<0.05),the grouping of "unlocking number" and "using time&unlocking number " have no significant influence on PA,SB,mood and SQ,and "using time" and "unlocking number" there almost no interaction effect.(4)There were significant differences in SB,the scores of mood and SQ among three groups of using time(P<0.01),and the difference in step number was statistically significant(P<0.05).There were significant differences in sedentary behavior among three groups of using time(P<0.05).In terms of mood and SQ,the scores of the overusing group and problematic using group were significantly different from those of the normal using group(P<0.01),but there was no significant difference between the overusing group and problematic using group(P>0.05).Conclusion of Research:(1)There is no significant correlation between smartphone use and physical activity among college students, the relationship between physical activity and smartphone use may depend on the function of smartphone.(2)There is a positive correlation between smartphone use and sedentary behavior among college students. The longer the time of smartphone use,the longer the sedentary time.(3)Smartphone use is negatively correlated with mood in college students, the longer the time of smartphone use,the more negative mood.(4)Smartphone use is negatively correlated sleep quality in college students, the longer the time of smartphone use,the lower the sleep quality.
