| The current study was to investigate factors associated with deaf students’ verbal and physical aggression in Afghanistan.This study employed a mixed-method approach(the explanatory sequential mixed design)to collect the required data and address the research objectives.The statistical sample of this study consisted of all the male and female deaf students at the High School level in a National Deaf School,which is the only Deaf School in Kabul city,Afghanistan.The total number of these students was 105 which were involved in three different classes(Class 10,11,and 12).The research was conducted in two phases to find the verbal and physical aggression factors associated with deaf children in Afghanistan.In the first phase,a questionnaire was used to collect the required data.Subsequently,the data was analyzed,interpreted,and reported.In the second phase,I also conducted an in-depth interview with 10 participants among the total sample.Interviews were conducted to collect data to support the findings of the first phase.The interview questions were made based on the results of the quantitative phase of this study.Then,they were validated by two professional professors before collecting the data.findings showed that the deaf students’ level of both physical and verbal aggression was Low Average level.Male students were found to be more aggressive than female students about both verbal and physical aggression.In addition,11 factors were found to create aggression among deaf students.11 main themes,6 on creating and 5 themes on factors avoiding regression were found to support the quantitative findings.On the other hand,the interview findings were also found the major findings in the quantitative phase of this study. |
