Procrastination is a typical failure of self-control that does not complete the plan on schedule and can have a series of negative effects on individual emotions and behaviors.Not only is the phenomenon of procrastination serious in college students,but also the lack of exercise behavior habits is quite common,so it is very important to find effective intervention methods to improve or overcome procrastination behavior.This study mainly uses literature method,expert interview method,questionnaire method,experimental method and statistical method to explore the situation of college students’ exercise procrastination,and with the help of more mature goal setting theory and method,which has been widely used in the field of organizational management and educational learning,studies and explores the influence of streamlined exercise target on college students’ tendency to exercise procrastination and exercise procrastination behavior,in order to verify the feasibility of using target setting method to intervene in college students’ exercise procrastination.Results:(1)There were as many as 80.92% of college students with procrastination in exercise,and 54.4% were moderate or above.(2)After 12 weeks of experiment,the experimental group was significantly lower than the control group in the exercise procrastination score(t=-9.225,p<0.001),and the post-experiment exercise procrastination tendency score was significantly lower than the pre-experiment score(t=-11.032,p<0.001).(3)The average number of exercise procrastination behaviors occurred in the experimental group was significantly less than that of the control group(t=-3.101,p<0.01).Combined with behavioral performance analysis,the conclusion of the study is drawn.The conclusion of the study is:(1)The tendency of exercise procrastination is widespread among college students and the degree of procrastination is more serious.(2)Reducing the long-term goal of exercise to a phased short-term goal with the help of goal setting theory can significantly improve the level of exercise procrastination tendency of male college students.(3)Using the goal setting theory to reduce the long-term goal of exercise to a phased short-term goal can significantly improve the behavior of male college students in exercise procrastination,and have a positive impact on improving the performance level of exercise.It is feasible to intervene in the problem of college students’ exercise procrastination behavior.Two considerations were put forward for the use of goal setting methods to intervene in exercise procrastination behavior.
