Currently,boarding school education has become an important choice of the rural compulsory education in our country.It plays a positive role in the balanced development of compulsory education,and at the same time,the problems of boarding students’ adaptation to school are gradually exposed,and national policies and practice show that social work intervention can help boarding students to improve school adjustment ability,and in the school social work with is optional in the process of social work intervention in effective and important means.This paper focus on the rural boarding students’ school adjustment,with "in the school social worker with" project as an example,Using qualitative research methods of participatory observation,depth interview,and literature research under the guidance of the social support theory and social learning theory.Through a series of social work practices,such as analyzing needs,making plans,carrying out activities,evaluating effects,reflecting and summarizing,social workers have accumulated rich experience in improving the adaptation of rural boarding students to schools.In terms of the specific content,first of all,this paper introduces the research background,significance,theoretical basis,concept definition,etc.,sorts out and evaluates the relevant research on the adaptation of rural boarding students in schools at home and abroad,and points out that there are relatively few articles on the practical research on the involvement of social workers in rural boarding schools.Secondly,based on the live-in social worker accompanying project,this paper analyzes and evaluates the current situation and needs of rural boarding students’ school adaptation,and points out that the problems and needs of boarding students’ school adaptation are mainly reflected in the three dimensions of learning adaptation,life adaptation and psychological and emotional adaptation,which need to be improved urgently.Thirdly,based on the current situation and needs assessment,the practical process and analysis were carried out,including three stages of preparation,implementation and evaluation.In the preparatory stage,a group activity plan was formulated to improve the adaptation of rural boarding students in schools,namely eight thematic activities under three dimensions.In the implementation and evaluation stage,the practical process of the live-in social workers’ involvement in the improvement of rural boarding students’ school adaptation ability is discussed in detail,that is,the theme activities of building a group,changing attitudes and mastering learning methods in the dimension of learning adaptation improvement;the theme activities of strengthening safety awareness,identifying snacks and forming hygiene habits in the dimension of life adaptation improvement;and the theme activities of understanding emotions and acquiring skills in the dimension of psychological and emotional adaptation improvement.Finally,in view of the problems existing in the practice process,the following suggestions are put forward: to improve the professional competence and professional identity of social workers in schools,establish professional supervision mechanism,strengthen the close link between social workers in schools and families,and build a harmonious social support network.The research finds the following conclusions: group working method has obvious advantages in improving rural boarding students’ school adaptation.The continuous and normal operation and the strong guarantee of the system and policy is needed in the aspect of improving the school’s adaptive ability.School social work needs to innovate the service mode continuously,and needs the coordination and support of family,school and society.Campus resident social workers have accumulated a wealth of practical experience,which can contribute to the healthy development of social work in local schools.
