With the progress of China’s society and economic development,China has gradually begun to attach importance to the cause of national fitness, and launched the national fitness plan(2016-2020).However,the contradiction between the demand of the masses for physical exercise and the supply and demand of sports resources has become increasingly acute.Public sports space is an important spatial carrier and material basis for carrying residents’ daily sports activities. How to plan the layout and facilities of public sports space is an important link in urban planning, and also an important factor affecting residents’ participation in national fitness activities.By taking taijiang district of fuzhou city as the research object, the concept and connotation of public sports space are analyzed through extensive and in-depth preliminary basic research.Based on the methods of literature review, field investigation, questionnaire survey, interview and mathematical statistics, the spatial layout of the existing public sports space in taijiang district was analyzed by using GIS spatial analysis as the basic means.Through in-depth basic research on the existing sports space facilities configuration, residents use the status of interviews and surveys.A questionnaire survey was conducted on residents’ physical exercise behavior. The following conclusions were drawn:Ⅰ.the permanent resident population of taijiang district is 487,000,the sports field area is 209,543 square meters, and the per capita sports area is 0.43 square meters. The total amount of urban public sports space resources is insufficient and lack of integration, which cannot meet the needs of existing residents. At the same time, the public sports space in taijiang district has not been able to strengthen the commonweal and social attributes of the public sports venues.2.The study found that the spatial layout of public sports in taijiang district was significantly influenced by the local geographical environment, urban development direction and urban transportation network.Meanwhile, due to the influence of the law of urban stage development, the spatial planning of sports was not perfect, and the public sports space was insufficient, which could not meet the needs of residents for sports activities.Taijiang district is the economic and commercial center of fuzhou, where a large number of people gather. Therefore, the space for public sports facilities is not only in great demand in quantity, but also in high demand for the service level of the facilities. The study found that the current service capacity and level of public sports space in taijiang district are far from satisfying the use of residents in taijiang district.3.The study found that the objective factors restricting the residents’ choice of public sports space in taijiang district include the lack of sports space, the distance between sports places, the limitation of the opening time of sports places, the seasonal climate and other reasons. The time spent in space is mainly from 17 to 20 hours, and the number of residents in shangtaijiang district who spend 30-90 minutes a week in activities is large. In the site selection, the park square and the community construction space are given priority to.4.The study believes that the planning and layout of public sports space should adhere to the following principles: overall planning, accessibility and hierarchy,as well as sustainability. At the same time, the research also integrates the functions of various public Spaces, and puts forward differentiated functional guidance and configuration standards for different types of public sports Spaces in terms of function selection and facility configuration. The layout strategy is proposed for different spatial types.
