| Postgraduate students have more time at their disposal during the study period,and need good self-management skills and scheduling skills.With the expansion of higher education,discussions about improving the quality of education have been triggered,but in reality,academic procrastination seems to be a common problem for postgraduates.Therefore,it is extremely important to pay attention to the current situation of graduate students’ academic procrastination and explore.By combing the literature,this study translated and revised the existing scale.A total of 898 valid questionnaires were collected from the master students of three universities.In order to further explore the influential factors of academic self-efficacy and the process of academic procrastination,10 students were interviewed after statistical analysis.The main findings are as follows:1.The overall academic self-efficacy of postgraduates in the three universities is generally above-average.Students generally believe that they have the ability to achieve good results in learning and scientific research,but there are many deficiencies in testing their own knowledge and actively reading the literature.2.Graduate students procrastinated the most in reading academic documents,and the least in completing the tasks assigned by teachers.The willingness of postgraduates to improve their academic procrastination was higher overall.3.Postgraduates’ academic self-efficacy can predict academic procrastination behavior.Among them,the academic ability self-efficacy can negatively predict the procrastination of postgraduates.4.Through interviews,we found that the main factors affecting students’ academic selfefficacy are: task characteristics,self-awareness,social support and family environment.Based on the above findings,this study proposes suggestions on how to improve graduate students’ academic self-efficacy and academic procrastination behavior from the perspectives of self-regulation,academic management and learning support. |
