| Due to the low level of corporate social responsibility performance in China and the fact that the value of female directors’ participation in corporate governance has not been fully recognized and developed,and based on the feminist care ethics and social role theory and with the synthesized of psychology,sociology,organizational behavior,management disciplines,and other multi-disciplinary theories,this paper focuses on "the mechanism of the impact of female directors on corporate responsibility".I use the listed A-share companies data from 2016 to 2018 and STATA to perform descriptive statistics analysis,correlation analysis,and hierarchical regression analysis.This paper mainly carries out the following two sub-studies:Sub-study 1,the analysis of the main effects of female directors on corporate social responsibility.Sub-study 2,the analysis of the moderating effect of board performance behavior between female directors and corporate social responsibility.Through these studies,the following conclusions are drawn: Firstly,female directors’ participation in corporate governance has a significant nonlinear inverted U-shaped relationship with corporate social responsibility performance.Secondly,the performance of the board of directors has an important impact on the relationship between female directors and corporate social responsibility and plays a nonlinear regulatory role.The main contributions of this study are as follows:(1)compared with the current literature which only thinks that female directors have positive or negative effects on corporate social responsibility performance,this paper points out that the relationship between the proportion of female directors and corporate social responsibility performance is a nonlinear inverted "U" type,which provides a reasonable reference level for listed companies to improve the proportion of female directors and improve the corporate social responsibility performance of Listed Companies in China Governance and promotion of corporate social responsibility provide a new theoretical basis.(2)In view of the fact that the performance of the board of directors and the nature of corporate property rights have a moderating effect on the inverted U-shaped relationship between female directors and corporate social responsibility,when enterprises introduce female directors,they need to consider the actual situation of the performance of the board of directors and the nature of corporate property rights,and consider the actual needs or potential expectations of corporate social responsibility,so as to realize the role of female directors as a board of directors as much as possible The results show that the important demographic characteristics of the variables improve and promote both the optimization of board governance and the performance of corporate social responsibility. |
