Research On The Role Of Social Workers In Social Work Services

As the main body of social service provision,the government cannot meet the growing social demand in its service area,and it urgently needs to integrate social forces to meet the service needs of citizens.Social work is a profession that meets the needs of service targets and provides professional services,and is favored by the government and the public.The government realizes the transformation of government governance and the innovation of social governance by purchasing social work services.And social governance needs the support of social organizations,especially social work agencies.Currently,more and more social organizations and social work agencies provide social work services in the form of projects.During the operation of the project,many social workers do not know what role they should play in the service.Faced with different service targets,professional learning and practical operation contradictions,social workers are often confused by their roles and values.There is a role dilemma.This research analyzes the role of social workers in the "Colorful Childhood" project to help social workers clarify their responsibilities,improve service quality and effectiveness,and better accomplish project goals.The S institution project is aimed at the children in the community,through a series of activities to achieve the purpose of project operation.During the work of the S organization,the author found that there were many problems in the operation of the project,and most of the reasons for these problems were due to the unclear positioning of the social worker’s own role.This research is based on the author’s internship experience,using literature method,participation observation method and interview method,combined with ecosystem theory and role theory to study the role of social workers in social services.This study is mainly divided into five chapters.The first chapter mainly describes the research background,research significance and research methods,and defines the concepts of"social work service","social work role" and "social work service project";This paper reviews the relevant literature on the role of social workers,such as the theoretical research and practical research of the role.The second chapter mainly introduces s organization and"colorful childhood" project,including project overview,project objectives,main contents and project nature.According to the process of the project,the author defines the role of social workers in the early stage,middle stage and late stage of the project,and analyzes the status quo of social workers’ role-playing.The third chapter puts forward the role dilemma of social workers,such as role conflict,role ambiguity,role gap,role tension,role repetition,role interruption and role failure.In the fourth chapter,based on the summary of social workers’ role dilemma,the influencing factors of social workers’ role dilemma are deeply analyzed.Combined with the ecosystem theory,the reasons of social workers’ role dilemma are analyzed from the individual level,the organization and community level,and the government level.The personal reasons are summarized as follows:lack of professional theoretical knowledge,lack of practical experience,low professional identity and lack of confidence in career development;The reasons of service objects are as follows:the service objects have a low awareness of social workers’ career,have doubts about social workers,and have low enthusiasm to participate in activities;The reasons at the organizational level are:the lack of reasonable allocation of personnel,the imperfect supervision system,the lack of professional training,and the mismatch of post and salary;The reasons of community neighborhood committee level are:overload of administrative affairs,excessive dependence on community resources,partial role restriction;At the government level,the reasons are:insufficient policy support,immature evaluation mechanism and low resource support.The fifth chapter puts forward the countermeasures and suggestions to promote the role ability of social workers.The suggestions for social workers include:improving the comprehensive ability and practical level,finding out the role of social workers,actively carrying out self promotion,expanding social influence and enhancing the awareness of career planning;The suggestions of community residents are as follows:actively understand social workers,have an inclusive attitude towards social workers,and improve residents’ awareness of participation;At the institutional level,suggestions include:improving the personnel allocation,improving the professional supervision system of social work,providing regular training,establishing incentive mechanism,expanding the capital chain,and innovating diversified financing channels;The suggestions at the community neighborhood committee level include:reducing the administrative work of social workers,providing relatively independent office areas for social workers,and reducing intervention in activities;The suggestions of the government are:to establish and improve the policy system,to improve the evaluation mechanism,to strengthen financial support.
