A Study Of Social Work Interventions For The Role Adaptation Of Retirees ——Take The L City X Community As An Example

After the retired elderly change from professional roles to family roles,the role adaptability problems caused by changes in social status and behavior patterns are very likely to adversely affect the quality of life of the elderly after retirement,so it is of great significance to carry out research on the adaptability of the roles of the retired elderly to help the retired elderly adapt to retirement life as soon as possible and improve the quality of life of the elderly after retirement.In this paper,a preliminary study of the adaptation of the role of the elderly in the context of aging and its causes is carried out by using the interview method,observation method and questionnaire method.The study reflects the problems in the adaptation process of the role of the retired elderly from five aspects: economic conditions,personal psychology,family support,interpersonal communication and social integration,namely: the problem of changing the original income and expenditure status,reducing income and increasing necessary expenses such as medical treatment;the problem of poor personal psychological endurance,the problem of feeling of loss and loneliness;the problem of weak family status,not respected and valued;the narrowing of the scope of interpersonal communication and the low degree of community integration.At the same time,the elderly also generally have the psychology of passive adaptation to retirement life and lack the willingness to actively adapt.The study further found that the reason for the role of the elderly to adapt to the dilemma is that,on the one hand,the retired elderly themselves lack the correct understanding of retirement life,lack of enthusiasm for integrating into community activities,and lack of ability to deal with family and interpersonal problems after retirement;on the other hand,external reasons such as the weakening of family support for the retired elderly and the lack of social support network also cause the dilemma of the role adaptation of the elderly.Based on the above research results and the premise of the needs assessment of the service recipients,this study organized a social work practice activity with the role adaptation of the role of the elderly in the X community based on the role theory,activity theory,and using the group working method.The study found that: 1.Through the development of group work,the service recipients obtained a platform and opportunity to release bad emotions,learned how to correctly understand the methods and skills of retirement life and coping with role adaptation problems,and began to actively try role switching;2.The group work method has a positive effect on solving the problem of role adaptation of the retired elderly,which verifies the effectiveness and operability of the group work involving the role adaptation of the retired elderly;3.The cooperation awareness and communication ability of the service objects are improved,and the self-worth is regained through active participation in community activities,forming a new self-perception,and alleviating the frustration of professional role loss after retirement,the mental state is improved.The study also found that the biggest challenge of social work involving the adaptation of the role of the elderly to retiree is how to apply professional values and methods to meet the needs of the elderly.In the process of carrying out activities,social workers should focus on the needs of the elderly,change the psychological state of the elderly who are passively adapting,and establish a mutual support network through activities to achieve the set goals.The shortcomings of the research are:insufficient follow-up of follow-up development of team members,insufficient professional ability of social workers,and insufficient resource links to solve the material problems of retired elderly people.
