With the development of Educational Informization, Information Technology and Curriculum Integration are developing into an important means to curriculum innovation. The theme-based learning, as a new model of information technology and curriculum integration, is catching more and more attention because of its advantages. The theme-based learning is a way that the learners under the guidance of teachers, working around a heuristic, hot research theme, using a variety of information technology tools to fully tap and integrate various learning resources to carry out the diversity of learning activities, to achieve the inquiry goal, as well as the integration of academic knowledge, thus to enhance their information literacy and academic literacy, cultivate their own problem-solving ability and innovative ability. The theme-based learning is based on Subject-Oriented Education Theory and Constructivist Learning Environments Theory and so on. In the theme-based learning, learners acquire the inquiry into theme through the collection, procession, utilization, evaluation on a variety of theme-based learning resources. We can say that the theme-based learning is resource-based learning. It requires a lot of learning resources to support. The learners may need to pay a lot of attention on the collections of large amount of resources. Thus we developed a network resource searching system which is centered on Topic Spider. This spider can work as a daemon, automatically and quickly searching the resources for learners. The Topic Spider's precision ratio is the focus of design because of it relates to the accuracy of searching resources. Of course it is also difficult. By introducing the Vector Space Model and an improved Best-First topic searching algorithm, the system has a high precision rate. After the system was developed, we took the product on trial in a secondary school. The majority of students recognized on the system even there are some deficiencies, they believe that the system can achieve the automation and specialization of resources collection, promote the theme-based learning. In short, the theme-based learning is in a rapid development stage in our country. The searching system that we developed provides a new resource collection method, despite the use of better-performing, but there are still many areas for improvement. the system basically realized the goal, and it also affords reference value for supporting them-based learning or any other related online learning.
