| Objective:This study investigated the relationship between basketball and college students’ self-efficacy,self-control and aggression by taking basketball intervention experiments, fitted the model that self-control and self-efficacy play a chain mediating role between sports intervention and aggression, and provided reference for research related to aggression. Methods:A convenience sample of 89 students from a university in Yangzhou City was used as experimental subjects, divided into an experimental group(26 female and 30 male)and a control group(30 female and 22 male),and the experimental group was given a basketball exercise intervention of moderate intensity(excluding preparation activities and stretching and relaxation)twice a week for 12 weeks;the control group was given no exercise intervention and other activities The control group had no exercise intervention and other activities were consistent with the experimental group. The Self-Control Scale for College Students, the Aggressive Behavior Scale for College Students, and the General Self-Efficacy Scale were used as group measures before and after the experimental intervention,respectively.Results:(1)After the 12-week basketball sports intervention, the post-test levels of aggressive behavior, the post-test levels of self-efficacy,and the post-test levels of self-control were significantly lower(P<0.05)and higher(P<0.05)than the pre-test among college students.(2)Basketball sports intervention can not only directly affect college students’ aggressive behavior, but also indirectly affect interpersonal skills through three pathways:basketball sports intervention→self-efficacy→aggressive behavior, basketball sports intervention→self-control→aggressive behavior, and basketball sports intervention→self-efficacy→self-control→aggressive behavior.Their mediating effects accounted for 52.38%,9.52%,and 19.04%,respectively.Conclusion:(1)Basketball sports can reduce college students’ aggressive behaviors and enhance their self-efficacy and self-control.(2)Basketball intervention can directly reduce college students’ aggressive behaviors and also reduce aggressive behaviors by enhancing individual self-efficacy and self-control,and self-efficacy and self-control play a chain mediating role between basketball and aggressive behaviors. |
