The high quality development of sports industry is an important new force to promote national economic growth.As an important part of the sports industry,sports reality show has important practical significance in promoting sports consumption and enhancing the development power of sports cause.With the development of Internet social software and the increasing number of fans in China,more and more industries use fan economy to achieve economic benefits and value-added purposes.As an important product of the sports industry,sports reality show has developed from scratch to now attracting a large number of audiences and has incomparable potential development space.However,from the perspective of the current development situation,although the number of sports reality shows is large,most of them do not have ideal ratings,and there are few works sought after by fans,so their operation mode needs to be further optimized.Therefore,how to make good use of the current booming fan economy to optimize the operation of sports reality shows,promote the high-quality development of sports reality shows,so as to continuously meet the demand of sports consumption has become an urgent problem to be solved.Key words: Fan economy;Reality sports shows;Operation mode;Sports consumption.This study adopts the method of literature,observation,case analysis and questionnaire survey to study the operation mode of sports reality shows from the perspective of fan economy.First of all,the paper combs the development history,types and characteristics of sports reality shows.Secondly,from the production platform,content,communication and marketing methods of sports reality shows,the current operation status is analyzed,and optimization strategies are proposed for the problems existing in the current operation mode.The research results are as follows:1.Reality sports show is a kind of program with competitive events as the main content and real performance under pre-set rules,which is transmitted through TV or mobile Internet to obtain economic and social benefits.The development process of sports reality shows in China can be divided into stages of starting,exploration,bottleneck and prosperity.According to the different competitive purposes of sports reality shows,sports reality shows are divided into three types: national fitness,star entertainment and elite trophy winning.And according to the characteristics of reality shows summarized by Professor Yin Hong of Tsinghua University,the sports reality shows have the characteristics of competition,entertainment,authenticity and spirit transmission.2.Based on the perspective of fan economy,the operation mode of sports reality show includes four aspects: production platform,content,communication and marketing.Sports reality production platform mainly network video APP,such as youku video,tencent video,etc.,the main content is given priority to with sports,basketball,football,swimming and so on,for example,the main transmission channels have television and the Internet media,spread and organize online activities,the main marketing advertising and marketing,paid membership marketing and derivatives.3.From the perspective of fan economy,there are three problems in the current sports reality show operation mode.First,sports reality shows have a single content theme,mainly focusing on well-known sports such as basketball and football,while other sports have less content themes,such as China’s traditional sports,rock climbing,snow and ice.In addition,there is the problem of excessive entertainment.Many sports reality shows pay too much attention to the entertainment link,but ignore the competitive link that sports should have;Second,there are few interactive activities between sports reality shows and fans.There are too few online and offline communication activities organized by sports reality shows and lack of timely interaction with fans.Third,the research and development power of sports reality show derivatives is insufficient.Derivatives are generally less varied,more expensive and less innovative.4.From the perspective of fan economy,this paper puts forward three optimization strategies for the operation mode of sports reality show.One is to strengthen innovation and invite fans to participate in theme creation.We should strengthen innovation in content and pursue diversification of subject matter.It is necessary to strengthen the research on fans and invite fans to participate in the creation of sports reality shows.Second,increase online and offline fan communication activities to enhance the stickiness of fans.Strengthen the interaction and communication with fans,timely understand the needs of fans;Third,develop derivatives based on the fan base.Understand fans’ preferences,develop derivatives that truly meet fans’ needs,and achieve accurate marketing to fans.
