| The prevalence of "Eurocentric theory" easily leads scholars to ignore some things that play an important role in the historical process.Singapore was founded in 1965 and became one of the developed countries in 2002,but it was ignored by Chinese scholars because of its small size and the colored glasses of "Eurocentric theory".In fact,the1950 s and 1960 s were a special transitional period in The history of Singapore.Under the background of the rising anti-colonial rule movement in Southeast Asia and the cold War,It strode towards independence with difficulty.However,how did the majority of Chinese children in Singapore enjoy? Current research has paid little attention to this aspect.Therefore,this study based on the historical background,the selection of Singapore Chinese community children established by the Chinese periodical "the world’s children"(1950-1967)as the research object,uses the history method,text analysis and content analysis,trying to theory on which based the existing views on children was associated to Singapore before and after the founding of the study of Chinese community views on children was associated.Specifically,this study focuses on three core issues:Fist of all,what views on children do the world’s Children editors have? Second,what are the characteristics of these views on children?Thirdly,what influences did the content arranged by the editorial group based on the children’s view have on the education before and after the founding of Singapore?It is found that in the cognitive view of children,children in the World are regarded as active development persons and objects to be restrained.In terms of children’s social status,children are regarded as nation—builders and encyclopedic knowledge learners.These views on children are similar and eternal to the discussion on the ontological meaning can be inherited at different times.However,with the constant changes of the political situation in Nanyang,the views on children of The Chinese community in Singapore,represented by intellectuals,are also constantly changing,which is characterized by The Times and contradictions.Based on the understanding of children,"children of the World" basis in the different historical stages before and after the founding of Singapore,the columns and knowledge presented by the needs of my own life are not intended to show civic education and multicultural education beyond the nation-state.They help us to think about how to explore education in the post-epidemic era based on the ontology of children after the epidemic. |
