Group Work Intervention In Parent Child Communication Of Migrant Children

The floating population refers to the population whose place of work and place of living are not in the same area.Statistics support that in 2000,64% of migrant families chose to move together with their men and wives,and 60% of their kids moved with their parents.In 2018,there were 102 million kids of the migrant population in China,and nearly half of the migrant population chose to migrate with their families.These kids were called "migrant children." The massive migration of migrant children has created a series of new social issues,just like education and social integration.These issues have been noticed by many parties in the society and related policies have been issued,which have been effectively alleviated.However,little attention has been paid to the problem of parent-child communication between migrant children.Good offspring communication can help them effectively transmit information,and create a nice growth environment for children to grow up healthily.Bad offspring communication increases parent-child barriers and makes migrant children.It is difficult to achieve socialization,and behavioral deviations occur,which are not conducive to their growth.Therefore,it is very important to solve issue of offspring communication between migrant children and should be noticed.This research mainly starts from the current situation of parent-child communication among migrant children.By the analysis of questionnaires distributed to the community,it is found that the offspring communication issues of migrant children are mainly concentrated in the limited communication number of time,single communication content,and monotonous communication method,etc.,while the parents have low academy level and communication skills.Lack effective social support and improper parenting methods are pivotal reasons that make offspring communication problems prominent.By analyzing the current situation and reasons of parent-child communication between migrant children,recruiting group members with prominent family offspring communication problems,with the overall goal of learning parent-child communication skills and improving parent-child communication methods,and social learning theory,communication theory,and ecosystem theory As a theoretical basis,group activities are carried out through parent-child games,professional training,communication and sharing between group members,etc.,to promote the achievement of group goals.Through the use of process evaluation and result evaluation,it is found that the group work method has improved the family’s offspring communication situation.This also fully proves that group work is pretty effective and viable to intervene in the offspring communication of floating children,and the change of consciousness is also the key to improving the offspring communication issues of migrant children.Finally,by self-reflection of social workers,it was found that this group activity still had many issues such as insufficient service,lack of pertinence,and insufficient evaluation methods.In response to the existing problems,we propose solutions from the family level,school level,community level and social level to give play to their potential,enhance self-efficacy,and comprehensively use social support networks to further solve the pissues of offspring communication between migrant children.
