At present,China vigorously promotes the integration education between mentally retarded children and ordinary children, and improves their contact with ordinary children. However, the communication between mentally retarded children and ordinary children is not optimistic.Internal factors are limited by the physical and mental particularity of mentally retarded children. Most children with mental retardation have poor language ability, backward development of memory and cognition ability, and poor emotional control ability. The external factor mainly lies in the social acceptance of mentally retarded children.Children with mental retardation can’t express their wishes reasonably, don’t understand the social interaction rules of ordinary children, and tend to express their emotions with extreme emotions when interacting with ordinary children, which leads to the alienation of ordinary children from children with mental retardation, reduces their peer acceptance of children with mental retardation, and leads to the separation of peer interaction environment between ordinary children and children with mental retardation.So.It is very important to improve the willingness and acceptance of mentally retarded children and create a platform for peer communication among mentally retarded children. This research uses the group work theory in social work, based on learning theory and creative drama theory, and under the guidance of social workers, improves the peer communication between children with mental retardation and ordinary children. The author recruited 4 mentally handicapped children and 6 ordinary children in the internship social work institutions, and promoted the interaction between them in the form of cooperative drama and cooperative games,so as to improve the peer acceptance of children with mental retardation and their initiative and ability to communicate with ordinary children. The author explored the advantages and disadvantages of integrating drama groups into peer communication between ordinary children and children with mental retardation, and sought specific implementation measures to improve peer communication between children with mental retardation and ordinary children.
