| Preschool teachers have an important influence on children’s growth.Preschool teachers’ personality and teachers’ teaching style play an important role in the development of children’s emotional ability.This study attempts to explore the basic characteristics of preschool teachers’ personality,children’s emotional ability development and preschool teachers’ teaching style development,as well as the relationship between the three.The research is mainly carried out by questionnaire.The personality measurement of preschool teachers adopts the big five personality scale,which consists of 60 questions,including five dimensions: Neuroticism,extroversion,openness,agreeableness and sense of responsibility.The measurement of children’s emotional ability development adopts the children’s emotional ability development scale,which includes 31 questions,including four dimensions: emotion detection and recognition,emotion understanding,emotion expression and emotion regulation.Steinberg’s questionnaire on the types of teachers’ teaching styles is used to measure teachers’ teaching styles.The questionnaire consists of 41 questions and includes three dimensions: functional dimension,horizontal dimension and tendency dimension.The questionnaire tests teachers’ professional quality,teaching philosophy and teaching level.The functional dimension includes three types: Legislative,law enforcement and evaluation,the horizontal dimension includes two types: overall and local,and the tendency dimension includes two types: radical and conservative.There are seven types of teachers’ teaching styles.Nine kindergartens were randomly selected for questionnaire survey.1500 questionnaires were distributed to kindergarten teachers,who filled in the questionnaire.After completing the questionnaire survey,1200 valid questionnaires were collected and the questionnaire data were statistically analyzed.The main research conclusions are as follows:1.The personality characteristics of preschool teachers are as follows: through the data analysis of the five dimensions of preschool teachers’ personality,the order of scores from high to low is responsibility consciousness personality,extroversion personality,openness personality,nervous personality and pleasant personality.Teachers’ personality is significantly correlated with age,length of service,education and major.(p < 0.05)2.The development characteristics of children’s emotional ability are as follows:Based on the investigation of four dimensions,namely,emotional detection and recognition,emotional understanding,emotional expression and emotional regulation,on the whole,children aged 3-6 have the highest score in emotional understanding,and their emotional regulation ability is relatively weak at this stage.The order of children’s emotional ability from high to low is emotional understanding,emotional perception,emotional expression and emotional regulation.Children’s emotional ability was correlated with age and gender(P < 0.05).There was significant difference between emotional awareness ability and age(F = 153.78)and gender(F = 341.89).3.Preschool teachers’ teaching style has the following characteristics: Generally speaking,according to the questionnaire score,the order from high to low is: radical,judicial,local,legislative,holistic,conservative and executive teachers’ teaching style.The teaching styles of teachers in different grades are significantly different.Among them,there are significant differences in the teaching styles of legislative teachers.The teaching style of large class teachers is significantly higher than that of other classes;The radical teaching style of large class is significantly higher than that of other classes;The local teaching style of middle class is significantly higher than that of other classes;The judicial teaching style of small class teachers is higher than that of other classes;The conservative teaching style of small class teachers is significantly higher than that of other classes;The overall teaching style of small class teachers is significantly higher than that of other classes.4.The characteristics of the relationship among preschool teachers’ personality,preschool emotional ability and preschool teachers’ teaching style are as follows:Each dimension of preschool teachers’ personality is related to children’s emotional ability and preschool teachers’ teaching style to varying degrees.Preschool teachers’ personality can significantly predict children’s emotional ability,such as emotional understanding,emotional expression and emotional regulation;Preschool teachers’ personality can significantly predict teachers’ teaching style.Among the personality dimensions of preschool teachers,neurotic personality,extroverted personality and open personality have a significant predictive effect on Teachers’ style.Preschool teachers’ teaching style plays a partial mediating role in the influence of preschool teachers’ personality on children’s emotional ability.Specifically,preschool teachers’ personality can affect children’s emotional ability through the legislative,integral and local mediating role of teachers’ teaching style.The mediating effects account for 12.25%,8% and 8% of the total effects respectively.Through the empirical research of this paper,the following educational enlightenment is obtained:First,preschool teachers’ personality will affect the stable development of children’s emotional ability to a certain extent.Therefore,we should pay attention to improving teachers’ personality cultivation.Second,early childhood education should pay attention to the cultivation of children’s emotional ability in order to promote the healthy development of children’s sociality.Third,preschool teachers should have a good teaching style to meet the needs of children’s emotional ability development at different ages. |
