In the 21 st century,the economic era is developing rapidly.As people’s living standards continue to improve,the unhealthy trend of excessive pursuit of material comforts prevails.It makes some people unwilling to bear hardships,unwilling to work,and distorts values.In the new era,the country has been advocating quality education,and labor education as one of the important links has been paid more and more attention.In2018,General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out at the 2018 National Education Conference that China aims to build an education system that comprehensively fosters the students’ all-round moral,intellectual,physical and aesthetic grounding,as well as promote all-round development of students through labor education.Labor education,which had been gradually forgotten and neglected,then returned to people’s vision and began to receive attention from families,schools and society,becoming a hot topic in the new era.Mao Zedong’s thoughts on labor education,as an important part of Mao Zedong Thought,came into being amid the mutual influence between China and Marxist’s thoughts on labor education.At the same time,it also reveals the effect of labor on human growth and clarifies the value of labor education.In the new era,it is of great significance to study Mao Zedong’s thought of labor education to promote the reform and development of education.In this paper,Mao Zedong’s labor education thought is mainly divided into four parts.Firstly,it discusses the origin and process of Mao Zedong’s labor education thought.The formation background of Mao Zedong’s labor education thought is complicated.In Mao Zedong’s youth,he was mainly influenced by his fine family style and peasant culture,which made him love labor,respect labor and working people,and initially had the idea of integrating labor into education.After he became a Marxist,Mao Zedong’s thought made a qualitative leap,he advocated the sinicization of Marxism and the combination of education and productive labor.The formation of Mao Zedong’s thought of labor education has gone through many stages,the germination in the establishment of "new village",gradually formed in the Soviet period,mature in the Yan ’an period,and continued to develop after the founding of new China.Obviously,Mao Zedong’s thought on labor education is constantly developing and changing,and in the process of development,both theory and practice show different characteristics.Secondly,it expounds the connotation of Mao Zedong’s thought of labor education,Mao Zedong’s labor education thought aims at "cultivating literate workers with socialist consciousness",uses "combination of education and labor production" as a means,and takes "education to serve the proletariat politics" as its foundation.Thirdly,it discusses the inheritance,development and innovation of Mao Zedong’s labor education thought.Finally,it explores the contemporary value of Mao Zedong’s thought of labor education.Mao Zedong advocated the "Balance between physical and mental development"," While learning,while producing "," Combine education with productive labour " and "To train literate workers with socialist consciousness",such as thoughts are not only the pioneering works in the history of Chinese education,but also have a profound impact on the education of new China in practice and theory.In other words,Mao Zedong’s labor education thought not only shaped the labor education concept,but also innovated the labor education form,and made a positive contribution to the development of my country’s education.
