With the development of my country’s society and economy,the focus on children in distress is also increasing.Existing studies at home and abroad have found that most children in distress have difficulties in integrating into their peer groups in the process of socialization.Existing research shows that children who lack normal peer interaction will seriously hinder their socialization and have a negative impact on their physical and mental development,while good peer integration can make their personality more cheerful and enhance their social adaptation.During the course of the practice,the author found that the children in difficulties in the practice place also have a great problem of integration into the peer group.Based on this,the author conducts research.Taking the children’s growth station in Luoxian Town,Beijing as an example,from the perspective of social support theory,this paper uses the method of group work to intervene in the problem of peer group integration of children in distress,mainly using the method of field interviews and literature.The performance of the integration problem of children in distress in the locality is analyzed through the previous visit and the file table of children in distress,and then the reasons for the problem are analyzed from the perspective of social support theory.This paper builds a peer-to-peer communication platform for children in distress through group activities,and sets up relevant themed activities such as enhancing group members’ sense of belonging and cohesion,discovering their own advantages,learning to trust cooperation,and being brave to challenge.Help group members change their low self-perceptions and improve their social skills while building a peer support network.After the group,the process evaluation and result evaluation were carried out,and it was found that the intervention of the group can enhance the children’s communication confidence,change the poor self-perception of the children in distress,and improve the children’s peer communication skills and skills.Finally,through reflection from the professional perspective of social work,it provides certain ideas and methods for the physical and mental development of children in distress;at the same time,it gives suggestions from three aspects,looking forward to building a comprehensive support network for children in distress.
