Helping behavior is the behavior that benefits others without considering other factors.Helping others is the traditional virtue of the Chinese nation,one of the main contents of our socialist core values,and also an important quality that teenagers should have.Recently,during the live broadcast of the opening ceremony of a middle school in Wuhan,a female student fainted without help for 30 seconds,which aroused social concern.The development status of junior high school students’ helping behavior and its influence mechanism deserve attention.Junior high school students are in adolescence,their physical and mental development is unstable,and at the same time they are in the critical period of personality and moral development.If they cannot be guided and corrected correctly in time,their development may be seriously affected.Psychological capital refers to an individual’s internal positive psychological ability.A large number of relevant studies have been conducted.This study will explore whether there is an intermediary relationship between psychological capital and family function and helping behavior on the basis of previous studies.In addition,gratitude,as a positive psychological quality,plays a role in promoting the behavioral development of junior high school students.This paper will introduce gratitude variable and discuss its role in shaping helping behavior.To sum up,this paper focuses on the relevant research of junior high school students and takes family function as the starting point to explore the relationship between family function,psychological capital,gratitude and helping behavior,so as to provide feasible suggestions on how to promote the development of helping behavior of junior high school students through this study.In this study,questionnaires were used,including The Chinese version of family Closeness and Adaptability Scale(FACes II-CV),positive psychological capital Questionnaire(PPQ),The single-factor Gratitude Questionnaire(The Gratitude Questionnaire 6)and self-rating Questionnaire of helping behavior.This study investigated the mediating effect of psychological capital on the relationship between family functioning and helping behavior,and the moderating effect of gratitude on the relationship between psychological capital and helping behavior.A total of 1149 middle school students from 6 middle schools in Jiangsu province and Henan Province were enrolled in this study.SPSS25.0 and its plug-in PROCESS are used for data analysis.The research conclusions are as follows:1.Junior middle school students perform well in family function,psychological capital,gratitude and helping behavior.2.Family function positively predicts helping behavior of junior middle school students.3.Family function of junior middle school students can indirectly predict helping behavior through psychological capital.4.Gratitude plays a moderating role in the second half of indirect effect between family function and helping behavior of junior high school students.With the improvement of gratitude level of junior high school students,the higher the psychological capital,the more the helping behavior.
