The rapid economic and social development makes a large number of rural labor force to earn money in economically developed urban areas,resulting in many rural teenagers and children lack parental supervision,the number of left-behind children in rural areas is increasing.For an in-depth understanding of rural left-behind children’s problems in the aspect of interpersonal skills,this article selects M village in shandong province as the investigation site,it is determined that the left-behind children in M village mainly have self-cognitive biases in interpersonal communication,lack of interpersonal skills and communication barriers in aspects of the initiative is not strong.The values of social work play a key role in improving the interpersonal skills of rural left-behind children.In view of the above problems,the author tries to carry out practical research and exploration with the method of group work from the corresponding theoretical perspective.A group for improving the interpersonal skills of left-behind children in rural areas was established in M Village.On the basis of professional theory,six group activities are designed according to the specific situation of group members,and the overall goal and sub-goal of the activity are formulated.In the whole group activity process,the author uses the professional methods and skills of social work to guide the group members to understand themselves correctly,through guiding them to communicate with each other,master interpersonal communication skills,improve interpersonal communication skills.This group atmosphere full of security can enhance the confidence of left-behind children,improve their language expression ability and skills,and ultimately achieve the purpose of improving their interpersonal skills.After the group work,through the comparison of the results before and after the intervention plan and the evaluation of the group work,it was found that the group members had made different degrees of progress and basically completed the goal of this activity.
