| With the popularity of taekwondo in the world,it is becoming more and more popular among college students.In order to meet the diverse needs of students for college elective courses,many undergraduate colleges and universities in China have included taekwondo courses in their elective courses.This paper investigates the teaching situation of taekwondo public physical education elective course in ten general undergraduate colleges and universities in Henan Province by using literature,questionnaire,interview and mathematical statistics.The aim was to improve the teaching and training level and quality of taekwondo elective courses,to make college students fully aware of the spiritual value of taekwondo sports,and to make more and more college students participate in taekwondo sports.The research findings show that(1)all ten general undergraduate colleges and universities in Henan Province offer taekwondo public physical education elective courses,and the course selection format is based on the online platform;most of the teaching modules are set in the sophomore and junior year.All ten undergraduate colleges and universities have the same lesson time,and all of them complete thirty-six lesson hours in one semester(eighteen teaching weeks),that is,two lesson hours a week;in the assessment content of the elective course,there is a problem of incomprehensive assessment content,and it is found that no theory examination is set in the assessment content.(2)The teaching materials used in the elective course of taekwondo in general undergraduate colleges and universities in Henan Province have not been unified,only a few colleges and universities have used the teaching materials prescribed by the Ministry of Education,and there is even the phenomenon of not using the teaching materials;the teaching methods of taekwondo teachers in general undergraduate colleges and universities in Henan Province are relatively single,mostly the explanation method and demonstration method,which is not satisfactory to students.(3)The taekwondo venue equipment facilities in general undergraduate colleges and universities in Henan Province are not perfect,and are not set up according to the national regulations of the Catalogue of Setting and Equipping Sports Complexes in General Higher Education Institutions.(4)The teachers of taekwondo elective courses in general undergraduate colleges and universities in Henan Province are mostly young and middle-aged,with more male teachers than female teachers,and the proportion of male teachers accounts for about 70%;the sports level,title and education of taekwondo teachers in general undergraduate colleges and universities in Henan Province are low,and the number of relevant teachers who are not from scientific classes is high,and most of the teaching team has not participated in any training,and there is no person who participates in high-level national training.(5)Students’ motivation and willingness to learn taekwondo are not strong.Most of the students who study taekwondo courses aim to get credits,while some of them are motivated by physical exercise and interest in taekwondo.(6)The main problems of teaching taekwondo elective courses in general undergraduate colleges and universities in Henan Province are as follows: taekwondo courses have short hours and single course content;the teaching team fails to select and use the teaching materials reasonably;the teaching methods lack innovation;the teaching venues and equipment facilities are not perfect;the teaching age of teachers is short,the teachers attend less training,and there is a lack of professional teachers;taekwondo teachers in normal undergraduate universities in Henan Province have low sports level,title,education,and scientific research level.The teachers of Taekwondo in general undergraduate colleges and universities in Henan Province have low sports grade,title,education and scientific research level.Countermeasures for improving public physical education elective courses in ten general undergraduate colleges and universities in Henan Province: unify the teaching materials of taekwondo elective courses;change the teaching form and innovative teaching methods;strengthen the investment in taekwondo elective course venues and facilities;strengthen the construction of taekwondo elective course teachers;strengthen the professional training of teachers;focus on students’ "endogenous motivation"."The students’ attitudes towards learning taekwondo courses are corrected. |
