Sign language is an important medium for deaf people to communicate, study and work effectively, and the national common sign language is a bridge for deaf people to communicate across regions. In the education system, schools are the main fronts for promoting the national common sign language. It is very important for teachers and students to learn and use the national common sign language. The promotion and use of the national common sign language in my country is characterized by an imbalance. The use of the national common sign language in the regions with better economic development is good, and the remote areas are slow to accept the information of the national common sign language, the promotion starts late, and the promotion measures are few. Therefore, this study takes Xinjiang as an example to explore the current situation of national common sign language use by teachers and students in schools for the deaf in Xinjiang. On the basis of sorting out previous researches, this study carried out research from the following aspects: First, through questionnaires, tests, and interviews,to describe the use intention, cognition, learning methods, application scenarios, and national common sign language of teachers and students in schools for the deaf in Xinjiang. The current situation of expressive ability, including 390 students and 139 teachers;secondly, according to the current situation, analyze the problems existing in the use of national common sign language for teachers and students in deaf schools in Xinjiang;thirdly, according to the problems found, put forward reasonable and effective countermeasures. On the whole, the actual use of the national common sign language by teachers and students in schools for the deaf in Xinjiang has the following common points: first, teachers and students have a strong willingness to use the national common sign language;second, teachers and students recognize the national common sign language.Knowledge needs to be improved;third, teachers and students have a relatively simple way of learning the national common sign language;fourth, teachers and students have deviations in the use of national common sign language in different application scenarios.Fifth,in terms of expressive ability, the national common sign language of teachers and students has a relatively small proportion of language expression, and the use of sentence grammar is also relatively weak.In addition to this, there are some differences between teachers and students. For example, students of different grades have different willingness to use the national common sign language, and there is a negative correlation between the willingness to use and the grade;when teachers use the national common sign language, there is a certain relationship with different teaching activity scenarios, such as using the national common sign language in after-class and extra-curricular activities. The frequency of the national common sign language is low,and the frequency of using the national common sign language in formal scenes such as classes and class meetings is high. Therefore, the following suggestions can be made: on the one hand, teachers and students themselves should strive to improve their awareness of the national common sign language, actively participate in training and assessment to consolidate the effect of learning the national common sign language, and cultivate the habit of using the national common sign language from various scenarios. In addition,it is necessary to pay more attention to training the expression ability of the national common sign language;on the other hand, deaf schools should take multiple measures, attach importance to creating a good atmosphere for the promotion of national common sign language, actively deepen the educational concept of "bilingual education" in deaf schools, and strive to build Multidisciplinary National Sign Language corpus.
