Analysis Of The Impact Of Digital Economy On Urban Labor Supply

With the promotion of a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial reform,digital technologies represented by big data,cloud computing and blockchain are gradually maturing.The integrated development of digital economy and traditional industries in multiple fields,industries and regions has led to the emergence of a large number of new business forms and models.The sustainable development of digital economy has changed social production and lifestyle and had a far-reaching impact on labor supply.As a densely populated area,cities attract a large number of labor force.The development of digital economy has a particularly prominent impact on urban labor supply.How to deal with the relationship between digital economy and urban labor supply,guide the rational flow of urban labor force,and ensure and stabilize the supply of urban labor force has become an urgent practical problem to be solved.This paper attempts to study the impact of digital economy on urban labor supply according to the behavior choice of this large-scale labor group whether to stay in the city under the background of digital economy.Specifically,this paper analyzes the mechanism of digital economy affecting urban labor supply from four aspects: employment environment,economic revenue and expenditure,public services and social capital.Through the ordered probit model,this paper empirically tests the impact of digital economy on urban labor supply from the micro level,and uses the intermediary effect model to test the action mechanism and effective path of digital economy on urban labor supply.On this basis,the heterogeneity of the impact of digital economy on urban labor supply is analyzed according to the differences of economic regions,urban labor flow duration and employment characteristics.It is found that the development of digital economy will attract the labor population to migrate or settle down in cities,which has a significant positive impact on the supply of urban labor.This conclusion is still valid after considering the endogenous problem and a series of robust tests such as changing the model and excluding outliers.The results of mechanism analysis show that the positive incentive of digital economy to urban labor supply is realized by reducing the difficulty of labor employment and improving the employment environment and raising the income level of labor.The current digital economy will also magnify the defects of insufficient flexibility and elasticity of social public service system,weaken the strength of social relations and solidify social circles,and form negative incentives for urban labor supply,which need to be paid attention to and improved in the subsequent development process of digital economy.The results of heterogeneity analysis show that the development of digital economy promotes the supply of urban labor in the eastern,western and northeastern regions,while the development of digital economy restrains the supply of urban labor in the central region.The incentive effect of digital economy on long-term mobile and self-employed workers is more obvious.The research conclusion of this paper provides a reference for guiding the rational flow of urban labor force under the background of the development of digital economy.First of all,we should improve the development level of digital economy,improve quality and efficiency,and constantly enhance the role of digital economy development in promoting urban labor supply.Secondly,with the help of the in-depth application of digital technology,we should improve the employment environment of urban labor force,improve the overall income of urban labor force,take digital technology as the support,improve the flexibility of social security system,and help urban labor force improve the level of social capital with the effective use of information tools,so as to stimulate and stabilize the supply of urban labor force.Third,the development of digital economy in different regions should be adjusted to local conditions,and the eastern region should maintain the first mover advantage of digital economy and attract high-quality labor force.In the process of optimizing the industrial structure,the central region should pay attention to the combination of traditional industrial skill training and digital skill improvement,so as to reduce the impact of the application of digital technology on the employment of traditional labor force.The western region can cultivate high-level cities with the help of policy dividends,stimulate the development vitality of low-level cities and improve the attraction to high skilled labor force.With the help of policy dividends and existing foundation,the northeastern region can promote the deep integration of digital economy and real economy,promote regional coordinated development,and continue to increase and stabilize urban labor supply.Fourth,priority can be given to promoting long-term migrant and self-employed workers to work and settle in cities,and guiding the flow of urban labor in batches.
