Objective: To understand the status quo of academic burnout,core self-evaluation and ability contingent self-esteem of junior high school students,and to explore the influence of core self-evaluation and ability contingent self-esteem on junior high school students’ academic burnout.This study mainly analyzes the influence of ability contingent self-esteem in core self-evaluation on academic burnout It plays an intermediary role in the process to help schools,families,and individual students better prevent and cope with academic burnout.Methods: This study took 452 junior high school students from two ordinary middle schools in Shaoyang City,Hunan Province as the research objects,and conducted a questionnaire survey on a class basis.Use "Academic Burnout","Core Self-Evaluation Scale","Abilities Contingent Self-Esteem Scale",use spss20.0 for questionnaire input and questionnaire processing,and use statistical methods such as correlation analysis,analysis of variance,and regression analysis to analyze junior high school students The mediating effect between ability contingent self-esteem and core self-evaluation and academic burnout.The results of the study are as follows:1)There are no significant gender differences in academic burnout and contingency self-esteem of junior high school students.(2)There are significant differences in core self-evaluation by gender.The core self-evaluation level of boys in junior high school is significantly higher than that of boys.(3)Core self-evaluation is significantly positively correlated with academic burnout.(4)There is a significant negative correlation with ability contingency and self-esteem.(5)Ability contingency self-esteem is significantly negatively correlated with academic burnout.(6)The contingent self-esteem of junior high school students plays a part of the mediating effect between core self-evaluation and academic burnout.The main conclusions of this study are as follows: academic burnout is common among junior high school students,and the level of academic burnout is blow the middle level;the higher the core self-evaluation level,the higher the degree of academic burnout.The contingent self-esteem of junior high school students plays a part of mediating role between the core self-evaluation and academic burnout.
