The Study Of Zhang Pengchun’s Educational Thoughts

As a well-known educator in the history of modern education in Tianjin,Zhang Pengchun had devoted himself to education career,who had also told his abundant educational practice and unique educational thought for history.The research on Zhang Pengchun’s educational thought can also enrich the research of educational thought by modern educators in Tianjin in addition to helping make up the unsystematic and incomplete research of Zhang Pengchun’s educational thought,so some reference significance can be embodied for educational development nowadays.In this thesis,the methods of literature and historical research were adopted to study Zhang Pengchun’s educational thought.Four chapters constitute the main content.In the first chapter,Zhang Pengchun’s life and educational practice were introduced.In the second chapter,Zhang Pengchun’s educational thought was systematically analyzed,including four parts of educational purpose and role,educational content,curriculum and teaching,and school management.In the third chapter,the origin of Zhang Pengchun’s educational thought was interpreted,including the historical promotion and guidance,the edification of Chinese traditional culture,the enlightenment of western advanced educational thought and the enlightenment of Chinese modern educational thought.In the fourth chapter,Zhang Pengchun’s educational thought was evaluated,in which the features were reflected in exploring modern education on the basis of considering the national conditions,taking national culture as the basis,integrating advanced educational experience,taking Nankai as the base and inheriting the characteristics of Nankai.The influence was embodied in enriching educational thought and practice,having pioneering significance for the development of Nankai school,and proposing constructive suggestions for the initial work of turning Tsinghua into university.Finally,the enlightenment of Zhang Pengchun’s educational thought to today’s education was summarized,such as containing both Chinese characteristics and world vision,putting emphasis on the construction of school spirit,enhancing the cultivation of innovative talents,strengthening the humanity of the curriculum,and fully using modern information technology.
