Zhang xue-cheng is a famous historian of Qing dynasty.He taught at five academies.After cl ass,he wrote a lot of essays about enlightenment education.These essays reflect the unique education theory of Zhang xue-cheng.Although it is unique,few scholars have paid attention to and comprehensively studied his education theory.So I try to comprehensively organize,analysis and construct relatively complete the theory of enlightenment education of Zhang xue-cheng.What's more,I analysis its formation background,influence and revelation for contemporary traditional Chinese education.What I've written accounts for a modest spur to induce others to come forward with valuable contributions.This paper is mainly divided into five chapters as the follows:the first chapter is introduction.It mainly introduces this study ' s background,the meaning of keywords,research method,meaning of this study and the review of related literature.The second chapter is about the formation background of Zhang xue-cheng theory of enlightenment education.This part is mainly from two aspects to explain the background of Zhang xue-cheng theory of enlightenment education.On the one hand,Zhang xue-cheng criticized the dross of Qing dynasty enlightenment education,and absorbed its good experience.On the other hand,Zhang xue-cheng's education practice inspire that he constructed his theory of enlightenment education.The third chapter is about the main contents of Zhang xue-cheng theory of enlightenment education,which is also the main body of this paper.This chapter is mainly from four aspects to respectively explain the basic view of enlightenment education,the view of teaching,the view of teaching method and the view of teaching materials.As for basic view of enlightenment education,Zhang xue-cheng thought educational aim is“dao”,and encouraged students to practice what they had learned,so that students are likely to be knowledgeable.As for the view of teaching,Zhang xue-cheng praised highly classics about Confucian classics and historical science as learning materials.What' s more,he thought teachers should guide students to study these classics and imitate them.As for the view of teaching method,Zhang xue-cheng emphasized teaching method should focus students' learning characteristics and law of development.As for the view of teaching materials,Zhang xue-cheng thought thoughtful materials could become teaching materials.The four chapter is the influences of Zhang xue-cheng theory of enlightenment education for educators during the republic of China,illustrated by the example of Liang qi-chao,Zhou yu-tong and He bing-song.The five chapter is about what Zhang xue-cheng theory of enlightenment education inspires the contemporary Chinese education.
