| The principal is the soul of a school and plays a decisive role in its development.As leaders in rural secondary vocational education,the outstanding principals of rural secondary vocational schools can not only promote the development of rural secondary vocational education,but also lead and drive the professional development of other principals,improve the quality of rural vocational education,and provide a certain level of talent support for rural vitalization.This study on the narrative inquiry to present the growth process of Principal D,an outstanding principal of a rural secondary vocational school,through an in-depth trace of five consecutive stages in his growth process,which include the preparatory period,adaptation period,qualification period,maturity period,and creation period.At the same time,the study has found out that the factors affecting the growth process of rural secondary vocational school principals are both internal and external.It is a combined effect of internal and external factors.From this,through the example of an outstanding principal,we can draw enlightenment to other rural secondary vocational school principals and related administrative departments.The thesis is composed of an introduction,five chapters of the main body and an epilogue.The introduction mainly introduces the reasons for selection,research and design,the research meaning and the possible innovations.It also explores the process of the thesis and the core concepts.The five chapters of the main body can be divided into three parts.The first part includes the first,second,and third chapters,through an in-depth description of the five stages of education events in the preparatory period of the principal,the adaption period of the principal,the qualification period of the principal,the mature period of the principal,and the principal creation period,this part presents the growth process of Principal D.The second part is the forth chapter of the thesis.It analyzes the factors affecting the growth of outstanding principals in rural secondary vocational schools from both internal and external aspects.The internal factors are:the rural education emotional attachment,the concept of lifelong learning,the ability of reform and innovative and personal courage and responsibility.The external factors are: the importance for others,the family environment,the working environment and the social environment.The third part is Chapter 5,which is the enlightenment brought by the growth process of outstanding rural vocational school principals.On one hand,the enlightenment for the principals of other rural vocational schools includes always maintain enthusiasm for rural education,continuous and in-depth study on the narrative system of the rural place,gradually refine the thought of rural vocational education in practice and enhance the place-based education leadership of rural principals.On the other hand,the enlightenment to the relevant administrative departments includes the importance of the selection of the principals of rural secondary vocational schools,increasing the training of rural secondary vocational school principals,and pay attention to the spiritual encouragement of organizations to rural secondary vocational school principals and the support for the reform of the single evaluation mechanism for rural secondary vocational school principals.Finally,the conclusion part reflects on the shortcomings of this study,so that the follow-up research can be improved. |
