A Narrative Study On The Professional Development Of A Principal Of A Special Education School

As an important part of my country’s national education system,special education plays an irreplaceable social role.The state continues to increase support for the development of special education,improve the level of special education,improve the standard system for teacher team building,and lead the professional growth of special education teachers in order to improve the level of special education and provide high-quality educational resources and services for students with disabilities.As the person in charge of school administration,the principal plays multiple social roles: he is not only an educator in the society,but also a leader of school work,a manager of educational institutions,an operator of school business,and a teacher of the whole school.live server.The importance of the head of a school with so many roles in one is self-evident.So much so that there is a view that a good principal is a good school,which shows the importance of the principal in school work.K School for the Blind and Dumb was founded in 1922 and is the first special education school in Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau.In the century since its establishment,through the continuous efforts of several generations,it has developed into a comprehensive special education school that integrates education for blind,deaf,and disabled children,vocational and technical education,high school education,special education teacher training,and special education research.It has successively won honorary titles such as "National Advanced Unit for Special Education","Advanced Unit for Work with the Disabled","Advanced Vocational Education School",and "Civilized Unit".Principal Y is the first principal of a domestic special education school open to domestic recruitment.He has been engaged in special education for more than 30 years,and has won honorary titles such as "National Advanced Worker of Special Education","Spring City Famous Teacher" in K City,and "Outstanding Gardener in K City".This study is based on methods such as object analysis and in-depth interviews,guided by Fessler’s teacher career cycle theory,tells the different experiences of principal Y in the initial,development,and stable stages,and analyzes the special education school while telling the story of principal Y.The professional qualities that principals should have,discussing the path of professional growth of principals of special education schools.Combined with the research results,it is proposed that the principal of special education should be moral first,educate people-oriented,lead development,The basic concept of ability-oriented and life-long learning,and from the perspective that the principal should establish an educational ideal and constantly improve himself;the school should unite the strength of the team to form a joint force for development;the society should create a good atmosphere to promote the integration of the disabled;the government should improve the education system,and give suggestions on the implementation of policy guarantees,in order to take multiple measures simultaneously to form a joint force and promote the professional growth of special education school principals.
