Teachers’ mental health has always been the focus of school education.Teachers’ burnout is an important factor of teachers’ mental health.Willing Acceptance and Striving Therapy(WAST)is a new Chinese localized psychotherapy.Willing Acceptance and Striving(WAS),is a positive way of doing things.It is found that teachers’ job burnout is related to individual coping style and self-efficacy.Evidence shows the relationship between WAS,career self-efficacy and job burnout.This article further investigate the relationship between the three and design group counseling intervention under the framework of WAST to improve individual WAS thus alleviating teachers’ job burnout.Study 1 investigated 368 Shanghai senior high school teachers in their job burnout current situation through a questionnaire,and explored the relationships.Results show that:(1)There are significant differences in the total score of teachers’ job burnout in gender,discipline and class management.Female teachers have significantly higher score than male teachers in emotional exhaustion and low sense of achievement.Class teachers are suffering from higher emotional exhaustion and depersonalization than normal teachers.For the subject teachers who participated in the "3 + 3" of Shanghai college entrance examination,the dimensions of job burnout were significantly higher than those of other subject teachers.(2)Teachers’ career self-efficacy plays a mediating role in accepting enterprising and job burnout.In Study 2,under the step framework of WAST,a group assisted program was designed to implement group intervention on WAS of 15 teachers for 11 times.Results show that: WAS and job efficacy in the experimental group were significantly raised t through the intervention,and job burnout decreased significantly after the intervention.After the intervention,WAS in experimental group was significantly higher than that in control group,and job burnout was significantly alleviated.Based on the above,the conclusions are as follows:(1)Gender,discipline and head teacher are the significant important factors along with high school teachers’ job burnout.(2)High school teachers’ career self-efficacy partially intermediate between acceptance and enterprising and job burnout.(3)The group counseling intervention designed according to the eight steps of WAST can significantly improve teachers’ WAS,and the intervention of WAS can significantly and effectively alleviate teachers’ job burnout.
