In the past two years,the educational placement mode of autistic children has changed to specialized autistic schools or classes for autistic children in special education schools,and specialized autistic schools and classes for autistic children have gradually emerged.However,at present,the main placement method for autistic children is still the mentally retarded class in special education schools.Whether autistic children are suitable to be placed in special autistic schools or autistic classes or in mentally retarded classes in special education schools is a practical problem that needs to be solved through research.Whether the placement mode is suitable or not can be revealed by studying the living conditions of autistic children in different placement modes.To explore the real living conditions of autistic children in the mental retardation classes of special education schools,and to provide theoretical basis for setting up more appropriate resettlement methods for autistic children.Firstly,the study distributed the questionnaire on the basic situation of autistic children’s living conditions to the class teachers of all the mentally retarded classes in F Special School,so as to grasp the living conditions of all autistic children in the school as a whole.Then,two representative cases of autistic children are selected,and their natural life,spiritual life and social life are deeply understood through observation and interview.Through the questionnaire survey,it is found that F Special School can’t meet the needs of autistic students in terms of curriculum setting,teaching equipment and other natural living conditions;In terms of the living state of spiritual life,autistic students will have negative emotions,and lower grade students are more likely to often have negative emotions;Nearly half of autistic students cannot adapt to school life;Students with autism have been compensated for their defects,but their potentials have not been fully developed.In terms of social life and living conditions,autistic students have certain contacts with other students in the class,and the class teachers in each class pay high attention to them,and their peer relationship and teacher-student relationship are good.The case study shows that the survival state of the case in school is related to students’ own ability,teachers’ attitude and ability,class atmosphere,school management methods and parents’ attitudes.Based on the results of the study,it is suggested that it is a feasible way to place autistic children in the mentally retarded classes of special education schools,but this kind of placement needs the support of various conditions.First of all,schools should consider the ability of autistic children to match the requirements of their grade.Secondly,There should be good teachers and appropriate student education management methods as the guarantee.Finally,teachers are required to create a good class atmosphere and establish and maintain good home-school cooperation.
