Since 2000,the frequent haze has not only affected people’s daily travel, but also seriously affected the quality of the urban environment and hindered China’s economic development. In addition, the increase in haze concentration has a negative impact on human health.Severe air pollution will not only cause the loss of labor force in the current period, but also have an impact on future investment and economic development. The occurrence of smog pollution is the result of a combination of various factors, but in the final analysis comes from factors such as economic development mode, energy fossil fuel combustion and other factors. The Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration is one of the areas with the most economic vitality, the highest economic agglomeration, and the highest population density in my country, and it is also an area with a high air pollution emission density.Understanding the distribution pattern of PM2.5 concentration in the atmosphere and the impact mechanism of economic agglomeration on smog pollution is the key way to effectively alleviate and control the environmental pollution in this area.First of all,on the basis of clarifying the background of the topic and the significance of the research, this article combs the relevant literature at home and abroad,in-depth understanding of domestic and foreign research progress, and lays a theoretical foundation for the empirical research below.Second, analyze the impact mechanism of economic agglomeration on smog pollution from different perspectives such as energy consumption, technological innovation, and energy structure.Taking the urban agglomeration of the Yangtze River Delta as the research object, based on the analysis of the spatial and temporal distribution pattern of economic agglomeration and PM2.5 pollution in the region, the impact of economic agglomeration on smog pollution is investigated, aiming at controlling smog pollution and ensuring economic sustainability Provide reference for development.Furthermore, the 26 cities in the Yangtze River Delta were used as research objects to analyze the spatial distribution pattern of economic agglomeration and smog pollution;then,on the basis of verifying the spatial correlation of smog pollution,a spatial Dubin panel model was established to discuss economic agglomeration The impact on smog pollution;at the same time, the robustness of the regression results is verified by replacing the spatial weight matrix. Finally, the relevant policy implications are proposed to provide relevant policy recommendations for the sustainable development of urban agglomerations in the Yangtze River Delta. The research results show that in recent years, the smog pollution in the urban agglomeration of the Yangtze River Delta has remained high, and there are significant spatial agglomeration characteristics in economic agglomeration and smog pollution.Among them, the economic agglomeration is reflected in the spatial distribution pattern of "high in the east and low in the west";Pollution is reflected in the spatial distribution pattern of "high in the northeast and low in the southeast".The smog pollution in the urban agglomeration of the Yangtze River Delta has a significant spatial spillover effect. The increase in smog pollution in the surrounding areas has made it more difficult to treat smog pollution in this area.Economic agglomeration has a significant effect on increasing smog pollution. The level of economic agglomeration is increased by 1 percentage point, and the PM2.5 concentration is increased by 3.46%.In addition, the abnormally high industrial structure and the improvement of economic development level will promote the increase of PM2.5 concentration.Optimizing agglomeration effects, adhering to joint prevention and control, adjusting industrial structure, and promoting smog control are effective ways to implement haze reduction policies. In this study,26 cities in the Yangtze River Delta region were used as research objects. While controlling the spatial spillover effect, the effect of economic agglomeration on smog pollution was investigated.Sustainable development has important reference significance for decision-making.
