The regression of excellent traditional culture has sharply increased the demand of traditional toys in preschool education.However,none of the function,interaction and shape of current traditional toys can meet the special requirements of preschool groups in terms of physiology and cognition.Thus,from the perspective of child development psychology,the study excavated and identified children's physical and psychological needs,with an innovative design method and process based on children's development needs,which would guide the creative design of the traditional intellectual toys.The main research are as follows:(1)An interview about traditional games among pre-school environment has been made.And three main functions of traditional intellectual toys was clarified:(1)Promoting the cognition of children with traditional culture;(2)Promoting the cognition of children with logic capability;(3)Promoting cognition of children with traditional science.It clarified the direction of functionally differentiated design of traditional intellectual toys.(2)Through the observation and comparative experiment,the demand of preschool children can be excavated from the perspective of child development psychology.Then,the study used the analytic hierarchy process and KANO model to identify the importance and type of demand.Finally,this paper showed that the demand for traditional intellectual toys can be divided into three levels with importance from high to low: the basic needs,the value needs and the development needs.And the research further proposed the creative strategy of traditional intellectual toys: meet the basic needs as all,and meet the value needs as more as possible,then take the development needs as the upgrading goal.(3)With the children's needs level and creative strategy,children's traditional intellectual toys can be devided into differente design positioning of.Then,this paper transformed the needs into product characteristics,to obtain innovative products that are in line with children's development status and can promote children's cognitive development.So that we can establish a complete method and process for children's traditional intellectual toys.(4)Finally,the feasibility and effectiveness of the creative design method and process are verified by the practice design which using the creative design process.
