New Vernacular Architectural Design Based On The Construction Art Of Pingnan Wooden Arch Bridge

As the most basic architectural type in China,vernacular architecture presents a unique regional symbol due to the differences in geographical environment,cultural background and construction mode.However,with the impact of globalization,traditional culture and regional characteristics are gradually lost,and architecture has fallen into an awkward situation of pursuing pictorial and special-shaped architecture.In this case,the traceability of the origin of the building,the attention to the traditional culture and regional characteristics,become crucial.Pingnan Timber Arch Covered Bridge is an excellent folk architectural style in Fujian,and a wonderful flower among the ancient wooden arch Bridges in China.It not only reflects the superb construction art of ancient wooden arch bridge,but also reflects the local cultural characteristics,regional context and folk customs.Throughout the current literature related to Pingnan Timber Arch Covered Bridge,they are generally introduced and described based on the research of mechanics,architecture and other engineering background,and rarely analyzed from the perspective of art.In view of this,this paper firstly sorts out the development context of relevant research on new vernacular architecture design,and then analyzes and summarizes the traditional construction art of Pingnan Timber Arch Covered Bridge from the aspects of architecture and decorative art,landscape art of corridor bridge,cultural characteristics and regional context,construction custom and villagers' life.In the end,the artistic strategy and architectural design method of Pingnan Timber Arch Covered Bridge are summarized as the theoretical guidance.The design is based on the characteristics of Pingnan's traditional vernacular context in terms of physical geography,history and culture,spatial layout,vernacular architecture and other aspects that we have learned through field research.From the aspects of architectural planning and layout,space construction and structural technology,the design practice of rural auditorium--rural community activity center in Xintian Village,Pingnan County,Fujian Province is deeply studied.New buildings can not only with the local natural landscape,village mechanism,reflect the pingnan vernacular architecture in the aspects of space,form,construction characteristics,and combined with modern features,technology,ecological concept design elements such as innovation,so as to realize the new rural construction,as well as traditional pingnan inheritance and development of the local context.
