This interpreting practice report mainly describes the problems encountered by the writer in the course of working as an interpreter in the Seminar on Belt and Road Initiative Progress for Nepal,and strategies adopted in responding to them.The writer summarizes some typical problems encountered in the process of interpretation which took place in the inspection of exhibition hall,sightseeing tours and graduation ceremony.The typical problems include the interpreting of science technological terminology;Chinese cultureloaded words,and the difficult sentences.Meanwhile,the writer makes analysis and reflection on strategies to solve the problems,such as free translation,explanation,omission,amplification,information reorganization,omission with the explanation,etc.Through the analysis and reflection of this experience,the author hopes that this report could provide some references for interpreters engaged in Seminar on Belt and Road Initiative Progress or other similar fields,and makes a small contribution to the field of interpreting. |
