This report is about the author's interpretation practice in the 24 th Seed Industry Expo.The author's main tasks in this activity are to provide escort interpreting for two agricultural experts from Dutch during the Expo and to provide consecutive interpreting at a meeting held by the Harbin Agricultural Committee at the same time.The author has collated,analyzed and summarized the corpus of the entire interpretation process and gives the general description of the interpretation task,including the background of the task and the requirements of the client.In chronological order,the author further describes the task in details.Meanwhile,the author analyzes the obstacles in distinguishing Dutch-English accent,the obstacles in agricultural terminology translation,the obstacles of four-character translation in the agriculture policy and the obstacles of long difficult sentence translation in the agriculture policy and proposes coping strategies,such as adopting knowledge preparation and technique preparation to deal with the obstacles in distinguishing Dutch-English accent,adopting literal translation and free translation to deal with the obstacles in agricultural terminology translation,adopting omission translation,amplification translation and literal translation to deal with obstacles of four-character translation in the agriculture policy and adopting selective translation,editing translation and explanatory translation to deal with the obstacles of long difficult sentence translation in the agriculture policy.Through the multidimensional examination of this interpretation task,this report aims to get a general understanding of the interpretation activity from the individual cases,and provides reference for the interpreters attending the agricultural exhibitions.
