Research On The Xi'an Association Of The Republic Of China

China has a long history of industrial and commercial organizations,which appeared in the Tang dynasty.Influenced by the thought of capitalism in the period of the Republic of China,trade association were undergoing the transformation of modernization.Xi'an,the largest inland city in the northwest,experienced a dynamic process from bud to rise,development to prosperity,and gradually into a stable stste to withdrawal from the historical stage.It reflects the slow exploration and tortuous progress on the road of modernization of Xi'an 's industry and commerce.Based on the study of the period of the Republic of China,the paper focus on making this study complete depend on the previous sporadic studies.In this paper,the archives of Shaanxi provincial archives and Xi'an provincial archives and newspapers of the republic of China are the main materials,and local historical records and literary and historical materials are the secondary materials.This paper adopts the research methods of historical urban geography and historical social geography.This study tries to restore the spatial distribution of trade association,layout plan,the influence of people activities,etc.Finally,the result of this paper is the role and status of trade association in the economic and social life of Xi'an in the Republic of China.This paper starts with the origin and background of Xi'an trade association to clarify its times.On this basis,the development of Xi'an trade association was divided into periods,and summarized the characteristics in the process of germination,development,prosperity and stability.Secondly,by analyzing the geographical distribution of trade association sites,we can get the factors which influences the spatial distribution of trade association sites,such as the environment and history of industry and commerce.At the same time,a single case study was made on the site size of individual trade association to analyze the role of internal environment.Thirdly,this paper explains the organizational structure and operation mechanism of Xi'an trade association.By analyzing the origin,identity and educational background of the group,it is concluded that people can influence the development of trade council.The paper excavates the historical materials in this respect,and combines people and urban history closely from the micro level.By summarizing the efforts made by people to the development of industry and commerce in the Republic of China,Xi'an is connected with the development of modern China.Finally,based on the analysis and summary of the above factors,this paper explores the social functions and external relations of trade association.On the one hand,the trade association,as a new grass-roots organization,has become the direct executor of the government's management of urban industry and commerce.On the other hand,although trade association needs to depend on the government for development,in the face of unreasonable policies,they also will unite with other organizations to resist and protect their own interests,which has a dual nature.There are three innovations in this paper.Firstly,the study of Xi'an trade association still in its infancy,which provides feasibility for this study.Secondly,using the research method of historical geography,we can observe the changes of industrial and commercial environment in Xi'an through-the spatial and temporal distribution of trade association:Finally,using the method of historical social geography,this paper discusses the positive influence of people on the development of trade association.
