Research On Bai Juyi's Chang'an Life And Poetry Creation

Bai Juyi came to Chang’an in the fifteenth year of Zhenyuan era(A.D.799),he attended the imperial exams in the next year.Among ten years,Bai Juyi became a well-known minister from nobody.In the nineteen years of Bai Juyi’s chang’an life,his political idea,ideology and literary conception gradually matured.The first part is about Bai Juyi’s whereabouts and friends in Chang’an city.By studying the time points of Bai Juyi’s entering and leaving Chang’an,we know that Bai Juyi lived in Chang’an for about nineteen years.According to Bai Juyi’s poems in Chang’an period,this paper discusses his whereabouts in nineteen places in Chang’an City and twenty places outside Chang’an City,as well as his making friends with forty-four people.The second part analyzes Bai Juyi’s daily life in Chang’an by dividing his life into four parts:clothes,food,shelter and transportation.Through Bai Juyi’s poems about his daily life,we could analyze his living conditions.In the third part,Bai Juyi’s poems are divided into two parts:poems written in Chang’an city and poems written outside Chang’an city.It reveals the changes of Bai Juyi’s life,thought and poetry creation in the different places.When Bai Juyi was an official in Chang’an city,he created a large number of poems about what happened in Chang’an and the people in Chang’an,one of the most famous type of Bai Juy’s chang’an poetry is allegory poem.Other poems,such as Qujiang poems,witnessed the changes of Bai Juyi’s life in Chang’an city,which is also of great research significance and value.Bai Juyi’s works outside Chang’an city including Zhouzhi Poetry and Xiagui Poetry.The official work and sightseeing experience in Zhouzhi had an important influence on Bai Juyis landscape poems and allegory poems.Bai Juyi’s works in Xiagui period mainly focused on his daily life.His thoughts became more complex.In that time,Bai Juyi’s poems about rural life and farmers formed the characteristics of amiable and touching.The fourth part,from the perspective of politics,literature and ideology,analyzes the influence of Chang’an life on Bai Juyi.Bai Juyi’s rich political experience,diverse life experience,inclusive ideas and complex emotions after leaving Chang’an made him a unique Bai Juyi in the history of literature.
