In the history of Modern Chinese Literature,Wu Xinghua is often regarded as a neglected and absent poet, and his theory of literature and translation have attracted less attention. The perspective of Wu Xinghua's research in this thesis is cultural adjustment.and this perspective can help us to observe how Wu adjusted and created between Chinese and Western culture, ancient and modern, creation and criticism, translation and writing, etc. Moreover, focusing on the process and result of cultural adjustment and revealing the achievement and dilemma are also the key of this thesis. The exordium mainly introduces literature review and significance. On the one hand,it tries to describe the research dynamics and find that past research focused on poetry research, and whole-person research has not yet taken shape. On the other hand,it discusses and explores the significance of cultural adjustment theory for Wu Xinghua's research.First chapter's main content is "Wu Xinghua's poems in the perspective of cultural adjustment",which is divided into two sections. From the two path of traditional and modern adjustment, first section discusses that the creation of poetry goes through a difficult process and inherits the tradition of Chinese classical poetry. The second section describes multiple faces in the process of adjustment between Chinese and West culture, such as "virtual and real","self-portraits" and so on.The second chapter is about "Wu Xinghua's literary view in the perspective of cultural adjustment".First section focuses on the popularization and purification of New Poetry, and Wu constructs the future direction which is popularization and purification of cultural adjustment. The second part is mainly based on Wu's professional thesis which is titled "An Application of Modern Methods of Criticism To the Study of Chinese Poetry" and sorts out five methods of obtaining poetry's obliquity.Meanwhile,we can also see various phenomena of adjustment and creation in this process. The last chapter is based on Wu Xinghua's translation and creation, and explains the interaction and adjustment between translation and writing. The first section takes the translation of Henry IV as an example to illustrate that there is creative adjustment rather than creative treason. At the same time,it also exists cultural dislocation and other negative impacts. The second section takes the translation of western poems in the early 1940s as an example to explore how Wu Xinghua adjusts and discards between translation and writing.
