Good oral expression is a basic literacy and an essential skill for talents in the context of higher education.Oral expression ability of contemporary normal students as the main force of future teachers,not only has a crucial impact on its growth and success,but also involves daily social interactions and even affects the success or failure of the cause.With the goal of cultivating high-quality talents suitable for today's education business,it is necessary to attach importance to the training of normal students' oral expression ability.The Putonghua Proficiency Test(PSC)is a test mainly aimed at the proficiency and standardization of Putonghua.Only the"speaking" test in each assessment has no written language,so it can reflect the test takers' oral expression level to a certain extent.From the perspective of linguistics,this article starts from the "speaking" test of Putonghua proficiency,randomly selects 438 recorded corpora from the students participating in tests as a research sample,analyzes the actual situation of the spoken language ability of contemporary normal students,and infers the cause of the irregular phenomenon by questionnaire,also theoretically explores how to improve the normal students' ability of oral expression.This article is divided into five parts:The first part expounds the theoretical basis of the PSC "speaking" item setting.As a standard reference test,it belongs to the third-generation language testing system and focuses on the "speaking" item scoring criteria.The second part clarifies the concepts of language quality and oral expression ability.By analyzing the "speaking" corpus,it is found that candidates have problems with the use of lexical grammar,which is not standardized and accurate.Furthermore,there are fluency issues such as utterances stop,excessive mantras,semantic repetition,and even reciting manuscript,and clarity issues manifested as pause,lack of time and slow speech,and logic issues including digression or partiality,ambiguity and lack of focus.The third part uses SPSS 25.0 to count and analyze the results of the questionnaire named "The Causes of Normal Students' Irregular Expressions".Dimension one is the analysis of subjective factors of non-standard oral expression in normal students:mainly psychological fear,absence of vocabulary and grammar normative consciousness,and attention to English learning and neglect of improvement of Chinese ability.Dimension two is the analysis of the objective factors of normal oral expressions of normal students:mainly the influence of traditional teaching methods and the lack of language expression courses in universities,and the failure of the language environment to stimulate the enthusiasm of oral participation.The fourth part proposes corresponding countermeasures,such as fostering good psychological quality,attaching importance to subjective factors such as vocabulary and grammar norms,improving Chinese ability,as well as reforming traditional teaching models and assessment mechanisms,adding college spoken language courses and conducting multilingual communication activities to improve normal students' oral expression ability.In the last part,through analyzing the current PSC "speaking" scoring criteria,concludes that there are theoretical errors such as a single form of propositions,fixed topics and different difficulties,and imperfect scoring standards in the specific operation process.And in view of the theoretical errors,suggestions for improving the assessment form,adjusting the existing proposition methods,and determining the scoring standards are put forward.Through the above investigations and studies,we can comprehensively understand the current situation of the spoken language ability of contemporary normal students,use questionnaires to find out the causes of its irregularity,and at the same time explore theoretically how to improve the normal students' spoken language ability and enrich the spoken Chinese Theoretical research.By standardizing the normal students'oral expression,and then improving their language literacy,they can consciously use standardized language to guide their daily practice,thereby improving their overall language skills.
