Research On Peking Opera In Yunnan, The "Great Rear Area" Of The Anti-Japanese War (1937-1945)

In 1937,the Anti-Japanese war broke out.In order to escape the war and maintain their survival,a large number of Peking opera troupes and artists,who were masters and famous actors,fled get away from war zone.As the "rear area" in the war,Yunnan local government and people provided them with refuge and living conditions.These artists and troupes brought Peking Opera to southwest China,including Yunnan Province.A wide range of plays provided an important form of entertainment for the masses of natives and the mainland people who sought refuge.The plays of resisting aggression rehearsed by the troupe inspired the determination and confidence of the masses for struggle against Japan.And the high-level artists also influenced and promoted the development of local art of opera.At the same time,with the changes of the situation,the local government has also formulated relevant management regulations for many opera troupes and performances.After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War,many Peking opera artists returned to their hometown.Those who settled in all parts of Yunnan Province became the foundation of the development of Yunnan Peking Opera,which reserved talents and planted the next generation for the prosperous in the field of this arts after 1950s.The purpose of Study of Peking Opera in Yunnan Province,the Rear Area(1937-1945) is to salvage the historical materials,collate documents and collect oral history.It begins from the development situation of Peking opera before the Anti-Japanese War and the cultural environment of Yunnan local art of opera,and combines the cultural background of Yunnan opera at that time,as well as the living conditions of Peking Opera in the rear area were analyzed macroscopically.This paper shows the history of Peking Opera's survival and development in Yunnan province during the Anti-Japanese War from the five aspects: "the distribution of Peking Opera in Yunnan","Peking opera troupes and artists entering Yunnan","Jing Kun(Beijing opera and Kun opera) leisure-time activities of fans","Opera regulations and Peking Opera plays to be performed in Kunming,capital of Yunnan" and "contributions of artists entering Yunnan to the development of Yunnan Peking Opera".It also finds out the reasons why Yunnan Peking Opera has held a place in China's Peking Opera after 1950.At the same time,it also makes up for a part of local opera history without complete presentation due to the long history and the serious loss of information.
