Sanyu Still Life Flower Painting Research

As the first generation of painters traveling in France,Sanyu is famous both at home and abroad for his achievements.While adhering to the aesthetics of traditional Chinese painting,he constantly absorbed the artistic laws of western modern painting.Starting from traditional Chinese flower and bird paintings,his still life flowers transform the skills and styles of embroidery,porcelain,paper-cutting,lacquer painting and other decorative crafts in Chinese folklore into the smooth strokes and bright colors in oil painting works,combined with traditional folklore decorative techniques and exaggerated artistic expressions transform the humanistic connotation of traditional Chinese flowers into a modern mood of oil painting.His unique Chinese-style bonsai depicts the sorrow and joy of "seeing everything is in contentment,mood of four Seasons is with others”.This article starts with the study of Sanyu flower paintings,focuses on the analysis of the works,and tries to make a detailed interpretation of Sanyu painting ideas,styles and techniques.Except for the introduction,the article is divided into four chapters.In the first chapter,the traditional flower art was compared in different cultural backgrounds between China and the West.Due to different cultural structures and aesthetic psychology,in the traditional Western paintings,the realistic depiction of flower forms is very important,however,in the traditional Chinese paintings and folklore paintings,the humanistic connotation of flowers is more emphasized.In the second chapter,the style characteristics of still life flowers in different periods of Sanyu were analyzed,from the integration in the 1930 s to the return to the essence of Chinese folk art in his later years.In the third chapter,the absorption and reference of Chinese and Western art by Sanyu's still life flowers were systematically expounded.In the transformation of western modern art in the 20 th century,Sanyu,a Chinese literati,studied in France and explored the fusion of Chinese and Western painting actively.The fourth chapter discusses the author's creative process of "Flowers Blossom" series inspired by Sanyu's still life flowers.Through the research on Sanyu's still life flowers,the author has a new understanding of flower creation.While continuously exploring Chinese traditional flower culture,the author has absorbed more ancient and modern Chinese and foreign excellent flower styles,and then created oil painting works in line with modern and contemporary aesthetics.
