In the 1930s,the pace of Japan's foreign aggression and expansion intensified,and the contradiction between the United States and Japan became increasingly sharp.The Secretary of State decided to send Joseph C.Grew,who had rich diplomatic experience,as the ambassador to Japan,hoping that Joseph C.Grew could protect the interests of the United States and further understand the situation of Japan.East Asia plays an important role in the strategic pattern of the United States toward the Far East,and the development of affairs in the Far East is closely related to Joseph C.Grew diplomatic activities,and his diplomatic activities and political attitude also have a certain impact on the formulation of the United States and Japan policy in this period.Joseph C.Grew diplomatic activities accelerated the change of American attitude towards Japan and the adjustment of American strategic policy towards East Asia.It is of theoretical and practical significance to study the diplomatic activities of Joseph C.Grew on his diplomatic mission to Japan and learn from his experience.This paper is divided into three chapters to discuss Joseph C.Grew diplomatic activities during his stay in Japan.The first chapter introduces Joseph C.Grew life and growth experience and how he embarked on the diplomatic career.Joseph C.Grew early diplomatic ideas and ways influenced his views and cognition of Japan,which prompted Joseph C.Grew to be appointed ambassador to Japan.The second chapter mainly discussion global diplomacy during the former ambassador to Japan,including handle economic dispute between Japan and the us-japan military conflict,focus on the us-japan conflict of interest in China,through the government archives etc between the interests of the friction between the two countries,reflect,Ruben people attitudes and ideas in such an event.The third chapter is the influence and evaluation of grew mission to Japan.The analysis of grew diplomatic activities is helpful to summarize the conflicts between the United States and Japan in many fields and the status and role of diplomats in the relations between the two countries.
