Professor Thomé H.Fang(1899-1977)studied Chinese classics since childhood,and had a very deep thinking and research on Confucianism,Taoism and Buddhism.Fang began to study Western philosophy after entering university.And in the midst of the collision between Chinese and Western philosophies,Fang fused Western philosophy on life and traditional Chinese philosophy,gradually building up his own philosophical system and establishing his own philosophical thought of "virtue of creative creativity".The first is the ideological origins of Fang’s thought.On the one hand,Pr.Fang inherited the tradition of Chinese philosophy."The virtue of creative creativity" is derived from the phrase "Creative creativity is what is called change" in the Book of Change,which is taken from Qian and Kun.It is intended to show the original creation and the infinite extension of the universal life.Mr.Fang summarized the philosophical principles contained in the Book of Change as important theoretical sources of his thought of "virtue of creative creativity" and incorporated them into his own theoretical system.On the other hand,based on the metaphysical principles of The Book of Changes,Fang incorporated the concept of "universal life" by the Western life philosopher Bergson into his system of thought,and absorbed Whitehead’s organism philosophy.Integrating Western life philosophy with the thought of Book of Change,he established his own life ontology.Secondly is the ideological content.The core of Mr.Fang’s thought of "virtue of creative creativity" is life.He regarded universal life as ontology,and the great epidemic of universal life can create all things.More importantly,he wanted to construct the relationship between man and the world,that is,the correlative structure of man and the world that Fang outlines.It shows Fang’s thoughts on the world,human beings and the relationship between them.On the one hand,the world is a continuous process of creation,from the physical to the religious,and from the natural order to the transcendental order step by step.On the other hand,the human personality is also a continuous process of upgrading,from the faber to the religious,from the Homo naturalis to the Homo praeternaturalis,and can reach the realm of "Homo nobilis" to achieve the harmony with heaven and earth.At the same time,the creation of the world can not be separated from the participation of human beings,and the process of realizing one’s own values is also a process of virtue and harmony with heaven and earth.In this blueprint,he realized the relationship between material and spirit,physical and metaphysical.He creatively put forward his path of double return,which shows that as an inner creative human being,one can ascend step by step and continuously create value,thus reaching the realm of supreme goodness and merging with heaven and earth.And finally,the significance of Fang’s idea of "the virtue of creative creativity".As an important part of Fang’s philosophical thoughts,the thought of "virtue of creative creativity" is not only of great theoretical importance,but for Mr.Fang,it is also an expression of his concern for the country and the people.Not only did Mr.Fang make important theoretical contributions,but his appreciation of life,his recognition and confidence in traditional culture are worthy of admiration and study by future generations,and his ideas are therefore of great practical importance. |
