As a large-scale national recruitment and selection test,the college entrance examination has always been at the core of middle school teaching.It can more comprehensively reflect the academic level of students.With many rounds of college entrance examination reform,the English subject test has become an important research object and material in the field of language testing.After the core literacy of English discipline is put forward,the design of English examination will take it as the center.Although many scholars have researched the English test questions in the field of language testing,there are few pieces of research on the combination of test questions and core literacy.This research is based on the core literacy of the English subject and the theory of language testing.It uses the National English Paper I of 2020 College Entrance Examination and the New College Entrance Examination Paper as text analysis objects to explore the differences between the two sets of tests and try to explore four questions: 1)What are the characteristics of the distribution of question types in the two College Entrance Examination Paper? 2)What is the distribution of core literacy in the two College Entrance Examination Paper? 3)What is the difference of the two College Entrance Examination Paper under the language testing theory? 4)What are the implications for middle school English teaching from the difference between the two College Entrance Examination Paper?In this study,firstly,two senior high school students in a certain city in southeast Shandong were used as experimental subjects to complete the answers to two sets of test paper;secondly,the score was used as data,and be analyzed by SPSS software in the field of language testing;Take two sets of test papers as text analysis objects and analyze the distribution of question types and core literacy.The study found that: 1)There are differences in the overall structure of the two sets of test papers in partial question types and score assignments.The content of the two test papers is centered on core literacy.2)The four basic elements of English core literacy have been implemented throughout the two sets of test papers,and there are differences in the presentation.3)The national examination paper is superior to the new examination paper in terms of discrimination,dispersion,and difficulty.4)According to the distribution of question types and the distribution of core literacy,the enlightenment to teachers' teaching is explored from the aspects of language skills,reading materials,cultural awareness,thinking styles and learning methods.This research has certain theoretical and practical significance.For the theoretical significance,this research can provide new ideas for domestic language testing research by combing the theory of language testing,overcome existing shortcomings,and keep up with cutting-edge research.At the same time,this study combines core literacy with English College Entrance Examination Paper,which helps to fill the gaps in this field.And it has certain reference significance for the construction and improvement of the core literacy system.The practical significance of this research is: on the one hand,by comparing and analyzing the differences between the two sets of test papers,the college entrance examination propositions can learn from each other's strengths,and balance their respective focus on core literacy,so that the distribution of core literacy in the test paper can reach an ideal balanced state.On the other hand,the analysis of score can help teachers understand the deficiencies of students in relevant knowledge and core literacy,so that teachers can provide targeted guidance.
