This paper mainly includes two aspects.One is the quantitative analysis of English cloze test characteristics of Jiangsu College Entrance Examination from 2009 to 2018.Secondly,based on the conclusions of the quantitative analysis,a data for the design of cloze test papers is established to provide reference for teachers,and to help teachers analyze cloze test papers from a more professional perspective in teaching,so as to improve teaching efficiency.The study is intended to solve the following four problems: 1)What is the quantitative data of the characteristics of cloze test papers in the college entrance examination? 2)What are the distributions of the word spacing and the level of the test points in the college entrance examination? 3)What are the specific content of the vocabulary features of the college entrance examination cloze and its quantitative data? 4)What are the guiding principles for the construction of the data for cloze test papers in College Entrance Examination? In order to make the data more standard,this paper makes a comparative analysis of cloze test items in National I from 2009 to 2018.The results show that cloze test items in two papers present great similarities in the features of paragraph selection,blank setting and choice vocabulary.For example,the generic features of test points all focus on nouns and verbs,and the choice setting is mostly composed of one word.There are also differences between the two papers in terms of paragraph selection characteristics and option settings.For example,in terms of paragraph selection characteristics,the length of Jiangsu papers in the past five years tends to be closer to that of national I papers;in terms of vocabulary features,Jiangsu papers concentrate on the consistency of part of speech and number of words,while national I papers do not have this limitation.Relatively speaking,national I papers pay more attention to the semantic level in item selection.Rationality puts forward higher requirements for discourse comprehension ability,and in terms of generic features of the items,the examination of nouns in national I papers is more than that in Jiangsu.Based on the analysis of the test points and option vocabulary features of 20 passages from the college entrance examination,the author finds that the vocabulary of the options fully conforms to the grammatical rules in the text,and the part of speech or the morphological form is also consistent in most cases,but the meaning of the words is different.Therefore,according to the textual contextual content in the curriculum standard,the author classifies and summarizes the real vocabulary test points in senior high school within the range of 4200 words.The principles of classification are grammatical principles,part of speech and morphology principle,and the principle of theme meaning.
