As a special linguistic phenomenon in the lexicological history of the Chinese, the Lianmian-words has appeared at least in the Bronze Inscription of the middle and late Western Zhou Dynasty. From the pre-Qin period to the Han,Wei and Six Dynasties,as the tendency of lexical disyllabification in Chinese vocabulary, the number of Lianmian-words has become enormous.Since the Han Dynasty, the research on the collection, explanation, phonetic analysis, and etymon has also been intensified, accumulating a wealth of research results. With the development of modern linguistics,Chinese etymology, which is one of the cutting-edge topics in exegesis, has been emphasized, and the etymological analysis of Lianmian-words has become an important direction in the study of Chinese etymology. Therefore,it is of great significance to choose the Lianmian-words as the object of etymological analysis. This paper uses a combination of analogical induction, internal morphological analysis, dialect and colloquialism evidence, enumeration, seeking meaning through sounds, and connection of cognate words.acoustic meaning and cognate association. On the basis of the previous research,we selected eleven words from the Lianmian Word Dictionary,he Great Lianmian Word Dictionary, the New Lianmian Word Dictionary, and ancient and modern Chinese textbooks, such as“?nuó(??)”“zh?ng zhá(??)”“lùlí(??)”“líng lóng(??)”“méng lóng(??)”“zh?ng níng(??)”“c?ng huáng(??)”“qiáo cuì(??)”“cu?wéi(??)”“l?n liè(??)”.From the three aspects of writing form, lexical evolution and etymological analysis,it is found that there are quite a number of Lianmian-words are compound words, many conjunctive morphemes of Lianmian words have the ability to form words individually,But with the development of language, the sound follows the meaning, the word follows the sound, concealing their origin. It has brought some influence on the correct understanding of the nature of words and the exploration of the law of Chinese language development. The etymology of the word“?nuó(??)”is“?(?)”and“nà(?)”.The original meaning of the character“?(?)”is related to“rolling hills”,and the character“nà(?)”is from the character“r?n(?)”,which is the appearance of a thick, drooping beard. The two characters are used synonymously,“long, many”is derived from this, and later derived from the meaning of“soft”,“floating”,etc.,because it is mostly used in conjunction with branches to describe its slender, favoring the meaning of“long”,the meaning of“many”gradually weakened. The word“zh?ng zhá(??)”is derived from the words“zh?ng(?)”and“zhé(?)”,the original meaning of“zh?ng(?)”is“to draw a bow”and“zhé(?)”means“open”,which are used together to mean“open”,which are used together to mean“open”.The meanings of“to get rid of”and“to obtain,to have”are derived from these words.“lùlí(??)”is derived from the word“lóu(?)”and“lí((?))”,“lóu(?)”is the initial text of“basket”,which is characterized by the interlacing of bamboo strips to form holes,“lí((?))”is the original meaning of the word“window prongs”,the two words are synonymous, from the color of light interlaced or aperture light, and derived from the meaning of“interlaced, numerous”“sagging”“gorgeous”“bright”,etc.“líng lóng(??)”and“lùlí(??)”should be the same origin, the etymology is also related to“lóu(?)”,and from the character“líng(?)”,the original meaning related to the interlocking raindrops.Compared with“lùlí(??)”.There is also the word“méng lóng(??)”which is derived from the word“méng(?)”and“lóng(?)”,and there is also a form of“méng lóng(??)”in early times. The word“méng(?)”is an ancient word for“méng(?)”.In modern Chinese,“cover”is still the common meaning of the word“méng(?)”.The original meaning of the word“lóng(?)”is“a covering device”,and by extension,it refers to other devices with the characteristic of“covering”.The two words have the same meaning, and derive the meaning of“dense”and“obscure”.In addition, the etymology of the word“zh?ng níng(??)”is“c?ng(?)”and“níng()”;the etymology of the word“c?ng huáng(??)”is“c?ng(?)”and“huáng(?)”;the etymology of the word“qiáo cuì(??)”is“ji?o(?)”and“zú(?)”;the etymology of the word“cu?wéi(??)”is“du?()”and“kuài(?)”,their vulgar forms are“du?(?)”and“kuài(?)”,the word“l?n liè(??)”is derived from the word“lìliè(??)”in the Book of Songs. These are all lexical elements that can be used individually in ancient Chinese, and are closely related to the original word's lexical meaning, except that the sound follows the meaning, the word follows the sound, and changes in form due to the differentiation of the word's meaning and the different environments in which it is used, and the word forms continue to converge, concealing their origin.By organizing their forms, sorting out their lexical development and exploring their etymology,we try to prove from the perspective of Chinese history that a considerable part of the“double syllable monomorphemic word” in the modern conception of allophones can be explained separately and their etymology can be explored, and they are mostly derived from synonymous or near-synonymous compound words, and thus prove that there are differences between the traditional conception of allophones and the modern conception of allophones, and that the scope of the collected words does not correspond exactly.By analyzing and interpreting the etymology of individual Lianmian-words,we hope to provide some valuable information for future research on Lianmian-words,Chinese etymology, and dictionary compilation.
