Xu Han Jinshi Calligraphy Research

Xu Han was a well-known epigrapher,collator and calligrapher in the Qing Dynasty.In the fifteenth year of the Daoguang Emperor(1835),Xu Han was a tutor in Teng County.He devoted himself to engraving and collation,and also made great achievements in calligraphy,but unfortunately his book was titled as engraving and collation.This article focuses on his contributions to gold,stone and calligraphy to make up for the current lack of research on Xu Han.Xu Hanyou inherited his father's instructions,followed his father's classroom,and went to work in middle-aged.He gave lectures and school books throughout his life.He had a wide range of contacts.He had frequent contacts with Qing Dynasty calligraphers He Shaoji,epigraphers Chen Jieqi,Zhang Mu,etc.The books are handed down to the world.Xu Han's Jinshi activities include his search and transfer of Jinshi,appreciation and interpretation of Jinshi,postscripts,and collation of Jinshi writings,etc.Xu Han,as a scholar of Qing Dynasty Jinshi influence,edited by You Shan,Wu Shifen's work on Jinshi,Jungu Records,Ruan Yuan's Jiguzhai Bell and Ding Yiqi Models,etc.are all collated by Xu Han.Except for the Jinshi activities,his calligraphy achievements have received less attention from the world.The author makes a comprehensive and in-depth discussion of Xu Han's calligraphy on the related ink marks and inscription rubbings handed down,including his achievements in seal script,regular script and running script.Xu Han's seal script works are seldom handed down,and large seals are mostly found in manuscript interpretations,such as Pangu Xiaolu Ancient Utensils Interpretation Wen Chu Cao.The small seal is based on French and Chinese seals,with smooth lines;his regular scripts include both handsome Guange lower scripts and regular scripts of different scales,with different styles;his running script is in Yan Zhenqing's Struggling for a Seat Post with a lot of hard work,and the big characters are not lost in the running script.The face of Competing for Seats is mellow and unrestrained.Xu Han's knowledge had a profound influence,and later generations called him "Shanzuo Xu Han's study" and "Zhaoyi Puxue".The Rizhao scholars Ding Genshan,Ding Chuwu,Ding Yi and others were all influenced by Xu Han's scholarship,and they have made great achievements in elementary school and Jinshi.During the Republic of China,Wang Xiantang collected and sorted out the ink manuscripts circulated by Xu Han.This collection and sorting process had a direct impact on Wang Xiantang's academic studies.
